now India is at the same place with 2002's China, can India GDP hit 7.3 trillion$ in 2022????

I don't think 7.3 trillion is possible. Maybe 4 to 5 trillion is realistic by 2022, and that is still a very optimistic figure. The world economy is slowing down, and India economy-wise has been pretty crap the last year or so. Things will have to drastically change for India to hit 7.3 trillion in 10 years.

I'd say $6TN was very possible with current state of affairs beyond India's control. If the world economy picks up in the next few years and the 2014 elections throw up a government that is able to pull more growth out of the bag then 7+ is an option but external factors cannot be controlled s the climate is different to when China reached that figure. As stated in a recent conference in China by a Chinese Economics proffesor the coming decade is going to be incredibly difficult for China too, he described it as the "lost decade".

Did you ever heard of compound interest ?

If India grows at 10% for 10 year i.e till 2022--> India's GDP will be $5.2 trillion not $4trillion.
