Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain condemned Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Munawar Hassan’s statements in which he termed the late Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan chief Hakimullah Mehsud a ‘martyr.’

In a press release issued by the MQM, Altaf said every child in Pakistan knows that 7,000 security officials and more than 40,000 innocent citizens, including some ulema and religious scholars, have been killed by the Taliban.

Altaf asked the ulema and scholars whether the “murderer of thousands of innocent citizens” can be called a ‘martyr.’

“I believe that calling the Taliban leader’s death ‘martyrdom’ is against the teachings of Islam and of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh),” he added.

The JI chief on Sunday had said that Hakimullah was a martyr, urging the Taliban to carry forward the talks with the government.

Altaf Hussain is not the only political leader who has criticised Munawar Hassan’s comment. Earlier that day, Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari did not mince words in a tweet about the JI leader’s ‘martyr’ statement.
BilawalBhuttoZardari @BBhuttoZardari
JI proving once again they were always anti-PK &still r anti-PK by declaring HM shaheed.Some1 shld do 2 'em wht Bangladesh did w/ their JI.

What the hell wrong with JI? Hakimullah Masoud never fought for Islam, neither Islamic rule. He was killing innocent people.

Killing of Hakimullah Masoud was bad for the dialogue but calling him "Martyr" is ridiculous, unless he is comparing him with B.B.'s Martyr or any of MQM's Martyr. But for that, JI should remove their so called Islamic religious leaders status...

Altaf seems to be the only politician in Pakistan who talks plain sense. Is against religious fundamentalism and has basic common sense.
Maybe that is why majority of those in other Provinces hate him.

This time I support Altaf Hussain's sentence. Calling Hakimullah a ‘martyr’ is really condemnable. They should shut their mouths and stop this BS.

At least one Political leader has the audacity to call spade a spade. Won't be surprised if Altaf will be called as a terrorist by same people who are portraying Hakimullah Mehsud as a martyr.

Even Though normally he takes nonsense this time he is right

a Shaheed is a Person who died for ALLAH's will without any greed ...

I got to give JI 1 for being honest atleast they don't have double standards u have like the ganja league and Taliban khan ... A killer of thousands of pAkistanis and her soldier is neither martyr nor you negotiate with such groups

Hakimullah Mehsud was hardly Pakistan's great hope for peace
US drone strikes trouble Pakistan's politicians, but peace talks with the Taliban leader may well have come to nothing

Hakimullah Mehsud, leader of the Taliban in Pakistan, was killed in a US drone strike(A very Big thank you to the Americans) on Saturday.
Hakimullah Mehsud, leader of the Pakistani Taliban, was responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent Pakistanis. Under his leadership, the Taliban targeted Pakistani soldiers and civilians, slaughtered Shia Muslims and almost derailed this year's general election by selectively targeting liberal parties.
The news of Mehsud's death in a US drone strike on Saturday has not been unanimously well received. The interior minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, sounded as if he was in mourning :cray: when he said: "This is not just the killing of one person, it's the death of all peace efforts." Imran Khan, who heads the provincial government in the north-western province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has reiterated a threat to block Nato vehicles from passing through his province unless drone strikes are discontinued. While journalists and others pointed out that Mehsud was terrorising the population of Pakistan, most politrikcians sounded ambivalent at best.

So we have Poli-tricktions sounding upset and crying at the death of Barbaric Terrorist and pakistani Bas-tard Mullahs calling him martyr. And Pakistani ISI intelligence agency couldn't see him living a kilometer away from Military base congratulation to my country men we have True visionaries as our leaders :victory1:

:offtopic:But last i remember according to you mullahs weren't part of terrorism in pakistan

We are a bunch of morons calling this scum a martyr. This is to cheapen the blood of all those that had given their lives for truth, for justice, or a better life for his country. This dog lived like a king funded by God knows whom possibly RAW and killed scores of people, just one death of a child and this scum dog should burn in hell till even the demons beg for mercy.

What's Altaf Hussain's auqat? A condemned baghi hiding behind queen's skirt.

Why doesn't he visit Pakistan and condemn Taliban, dekhtay hain is ki himmat.

I thinks its about time Altaf Hussain pulled his tail out of his legs.

It's off topic, but I guess you didn't see the situation. USA is going to leave Afghanistan any ways in 2014, & most probably by then they will put sanctions on Pakistan. And Most probably AT are going to takeover Afghanistan back. Afghan Army or Karzai is not capable to hold Afghanistan for this long. What will be the situation of Pakistan, if Pakistani Boarder is not secured before that? We already fought TTP for 10 years. May be we can win after 10-15 years, but can Pakistan survive for that long while keeping western side boarder unsecure. Just for your information, on daily basis we are having encounters on easter side of boarder.

We simply don't have time yarr.. Pakistan needs to have peace with militants and then with education, this TTP ideology can be defeated.

But yes calling him martyr is way out sense.. But again our politicians has history of doing so.
