What's new

C-Voter survey shows what Indians feel about China, Bangladesh and Pakistan. It’s startling

That disparity with the waiters is sad.
Nothing sad about it. You are letting ideology do the 'thinking' for you which is what is sad. Waiters in America make a lot of money. On a busy night in a high end restaurant they can easily make over a thousand dollars. It's a high skill job. Their assistant bussers make a lot of money too getting tipped by the waiters.

Because every engineer doesnt need to design a microprocessor or write an OS u dumbtard. Seriously at times it seems u do drugs n then come here to comment or maybe you are totally delusional and brain dead. Go on start that company lolz.

Fine, not every computer engineer needs to design a processor or a write an OS but not even one out of those approx two million engineers ? Your insults like "dumbtard", "delusional", "moron", "braindead" etc just reveal your lack of ability to reason with people. You have to change.

I reason with sane people, not delusional insanes who think equal pay means respect and equal pay will work. Go on, open a company and tell me how long it lasted.

In an extremely Capitalist society like India equal and equitable pay is one element in giving respect. And you did not answer my point about the two million computer engineers.

Designing a microprocessor or OS is not a one man job and its beyond the capability of a simple computer engineer. You need researchers and a good R&D funding. This is not the 40s or 50s where one man would make discoveries and deaign new stuff. You need industry and university collaboration and funding for such stuff. Have u ever been involved in a design project? Because it seems u have no idea how such projects are done.
So it wont happen even if u have a billion engineers, without proper setup, funding and guidance.
Equal pay is a dumb idea and will never work, why dnt u open a small gas station and try it and see the result lolz.

I agree that designing a processor is not a one man's job and I won't reveal my design projects but let's talk about Infosys and TCS. Both have huge financial resources, humans resources and material resources. Infosys must have approx 200,000 "highly paid" computer engineers and TCS must have approx 500,000 "highly paid" computer engineers. Where is their processor and OS ? Why not even one of these items from these two companies ?

Every business operates in its sphere. They would never venture into something they dont have a long term plan for. Businesses don't just start designing something because they have alot of engineers, it requires a proper plan.

Infosys is 40 years old and TCS is 53 years old. Enough time to chart out a proper plan. Enough time to be ambitious. Especially when the two companies have had huge resources of all kinds. Check the history of QNX OS which is perhaps the most reliable and stable commercial OS currently. The QNX company started small. Does anyone depend on Infosys and TCS to present software to run a nuclear reactor or a space system or medical device etc ?

Infosys and TCS just don't have real designers. They just have technicians a few of whom can be guided by real designers. Infosys and TCS are more interested in being in the stock market and valuations than in contributing to the computing world. Simples.

20% is more than the people of Bangladesh, this is significant for Bangladesh.

What is the Bangladeshi government doing to counter this threat of mass migration? Combine this opinion with actual implementation of India's new citizenship laws, the figure circulated by conservative right in India stands at 400mn aspiring Bangladeshi citizens?
@mods can you please ban this dumb idiot @jamahir . This moron derails every thread with his stupid childish nonsense.

@Markhoor is suggesting that propaganda material found on dog killing monkey mob was inspired by southern secessionist like @jamahir.

you have also had monkey troubles.

i could see more discussion on this than poor Bipins heli crash.

This only means we can start and populate our next generation IT back-office trainer teams with experienced Pakistanis and Indians. Salary rates will be definitely higher than that available in their native countries which is a win-win for everyone.

If Backoffice companies in India are smart they will expand their operations and start training and sourcing talent from Bangladesh, but we in Bangladesh policy circles must ensure our people are trained/employed first and put in pre-conditions to that effect just like any other country would do. Training our significant outsourcing IT population (second in number globally after India) must come before employing Indians or other non-Bangladeshis (with some exceptions).

Bangladesh - with proper selection of policies can enable local improvements using globally resourced talented trainers to affect eventual local IT value addition just like other export sectors.

BTW Infosys and TCS has had good business opportunities and successes in bagging projects in Bangladesh as banking, telecom and other IT based platforms go the route of digital transformation along with Govt. establishment of a Gov dot BD cloud and expansion of existing three tier and 4th Tier local Data Centers.

And global Big Four consulting firms having large consulting arms in India (Deloitte and EY) have significant activity in Bangladesh too.

These relationships can be leveraged to improve digital transformation initiatives and bring Bangladesh at par with India, Pakistan and other countries to be the hotbed of IT resourcing, rather than just having it in India itself, which is experiencing a talent deficit with the quality of IT back-office workers.

Bangladesh specializes in skills which is complementary to those available in India (contract IT work such as desktop publishing, animation and accounting work). Also enabling software development for Asian languages such as Japanese and Mandarin.

In what sense am I a secessionist ? On the contrary I keep speaking of unifications, whether of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh into a progressive political and socio-economic pact, or whether in the wider sense of a Communist humanity.

 for the short term. :)

Business is all about money and if they are earning then its a success. Or maybe designing is not their thing, why should they go on a risky path?
