BREAKING NEWS: LAL MASJID

Whether we trained them before or not is not relevant to the actions that need to be taken by the Pakistani Government, now that those that we trained are turning against us. They were not trained to kidnap civilians, and law enforcement personnel in Pakistan, they were not trained to murder Pakistani soldiers, nor were they trained to create a state within a state. They were trained to fight the Soviets and they were trained to fight the Indian occupation in Kashmir. If now they want to start attacking Pakistani civilians and security forces, then they need to be brought to justice. Just because we may have made a mistake in the past does not mean we cannot work to rectify that mistake now. This operation was exactly that.

The argument in favor of starving them out would not have worked because everyone was under the impression that Ghazi had hundreds of innocent women and children with him. Ghazi himself said that he had 1800 people with him. From the point of view of the government, if they tried to starve them out, what guarantee was there that the militants would not allow the hostages to starve and die first, while they hoarded the food for their own survival? Thinking about hundreds of innocent children starving to death, one day at a time, does not sound very humane to me. Compared to that, an assault seemed a much better option.

The only people putting the blame on the Government are the ones having trouble reconciling with the unethical, immoral and criminal activities of the Mullah bradran; because these people carried out these activities under the name of "Shariah", "Morality" and "Islam". People are blaming the government because they give some sort of "blanket approval" to anything even remotely connected to Islam. One caller cryin on Aaj; "hukoomat ko mubark ho, unhon ne bechare Maulviyon ko mar diya".

So because this was a "masjid" and these brothers were "Imams" and "Ghazis" and they were trying to "implement Shariah", we have to treat them under a different set of rules? Forget the kidnappings, the assaults, the illegal trials, the murder of a ranger, the storage of illegal arms. "Ye becharay Maulvi to bas Shariat lane ki koshis kar rahe they".

Do you think that if this was a gang of dacoits kidnapping people for ransom, that anyone would think twice about supporting the operation against them? Of course not. But because they claim to be "representing "Islam", the exact same crimes of kidnapping and murder need to be "negotiated". This position is preposterous. It shows how much of a hold these Mullahs exercise over them masses in the name of Islam.

The reason these "Islamic groups" and Madrassahs have gotten to this point is BECAUSE we have been letting them get away with their criminal activities so far. Ending this situation is not going to be easy or bloodless, but it has to be done.

Six months ago the lal masjid mob was going around doing what they wanted, where the hell was mushy then.
The lal masjid is in the heart of islamabad and you are telling me the military did not know what was going on? If they are that incompetent in there jobs how can we trust them to know what is going on in india if they do not know what is going infront of them.
I do not recall the lal masjid people going to the army HQ and attacking them, was it not the army went to lal masjid and attacked them?
Follow the law, what a pathetic argument coming from mushy.
Did he follow the law when he took power by force?
Will they be any inquiry?

.
I am sorry but they CHOSE to pick up assault weapons and have a stand off. They could have given up at any point. Instead they chose to "fight it out" and lost. Did they really think they were going to win against a ARMY? They were given a lot of leeway (to appease the people who support them)whilst they practiced their vigilantism. And guess what...when you kill policemen there is only one response you can expect. They were morons and stupidity does not deserve sympathy.
Frankly the key here is to close down "religious schools" run by people with the IQ of peanuts. Keep schools for education and the mosque for religion.

Piled bullet casings are shown to journalists at the Jamia Hafsa, the female Islamic seminary of the Lal Masjid, or Red Mosque, in Islamabad July 12, 2007. The ceiling was blackened and the blades on overhead fans drooped, melted by the inferno caused by a suicide bomber who also killed five other people as Pakistani commandos stormed Islamabad's Red Mosque. Five charred bodies were found in the room behind the stairs close to the entrance to Jamia Hafsa in the mosque-school complex where government forces laid siege to Islamist militants and their student supporters for a week.

What about karachi, how many people where killed by pro mushy party, was any operation started against them?41 people killed in broad daylight and nothing happens against them.
Sorry i forgot they did not have a beard so there killing is acceptable.

.
MQM and Lal masjid two different cases. One is political party, can expect this behavior, but other people are so called " muslims". Follower of religion of PEACE. They are giving bad name to muslims of all over the world. Other political party is just regional party, has nothing to do with this big picture, where name of ISLAM has been abusing by few dry heads...
So because of bad consequence govt should set them free and let them go ? Aren't these pic enough to show the atrocities of these zombies.?

You're right DAbong lets leave everyone alone to run their own laws and act in whatever means they feel like shall we? TAke another look at those PICTURES that show the dead idiots refusing the LAW and attempting to kill soldiers and policemen for their right to beat people up for wearing the wrong clothes or listening to music.

THat is called Blackmail.......and the moment any govt gives in it will lose any authority it has. The Govt only had one course of action after the morons in the mosque would not come out. They DIED for Nothing whilst one of their "brave" leaders snuck out in womens clothing.

MAYBE THEY should have thought about the consequences of THEIR actions. What did they think the Govt was going to do? Give in? Morons!:disagree:

Almost 60 PA soldiers killed this weekend. Pakistan's favourite pet has just gone wild.

.
There is one thing which is nagging me. I saw a CNN clip which showed the General's office over looks the mosque so how could so many arms, bullets etc be smuggled into a high security area ?

Regards

Students claim seminary brainwashing
http://www.gulfnews.com/world/Pakistan/10139421.html

07/15/2007 07:40 PM | By Wajid Ali Wajid, Correspondent

Islamabad : Two former students of a religious school for females attached to an Islamabad mosque that security forces stormed say the contradictions between the life inside the seminary and that outside convinced them of how "artificial, sinful and un-Islamic" the latter was.

The students in their early 20s agreed to speak to Gulf News on condition of protecting their identity using the pseudonyms Raheela and Tanzeela.

They expressed concern about the fate of dozens of orphaned students who, they claim, were brought to the seminary from different parts of Pakistani Kashmir and Northwestern Frontier province after the devastating earthquake struck these areas in October 2005.

"We fear that they are either dead or have been abducted during the operation," Tanzeela said.

Raheela was forced to quit the seminary some three months back by her parents when she told them about the oath of sacrificing life for their teachers' cause.

Tanzeela was taken home on last Friday by her family that feared for their daughter's life.

Gradual change

"The thrust of education was to convince and preach to the westernised people outside the four- walled premises to embrace and adopt Islamic code of life," the students added.

"Our teachers justified raiding residences and business concerns and use of force at places where they thought some activity contrary to the Islamic teachings were being carried out," Tanzeela said. The teachers at the Jamia used to quote several sayings of the religious teachers about using force against people who are against Islamic teachings, she added.

The students felt a gradual change in their thinking and psyche a few months after they joined the seminary. Soon they began to believe that the men who did not grow beards or those who donned Western attire were no less than non-Muslims and should be punished according to the code of Sharia.

Similarly all the girls and women, who don't cover their bodies with burqa or a shawl, were tagged as followers of an alien culture.
