Screw you...my cable is not working :disagree:

I was kidding man ....

Can't compare to achivement by China that Lunar mission 1000 times technically challenging and with no help from NASA all on their own 100% independent

China's Lunar Mission was helped by ESA .

Helping China to the Moon / Operations / Our Activities / ESA

Then you shouldn't celebrate, you should congrat our NASA without us you cannot got it in MARS orbit. Credit go to NASA. Anyway Asian need to remember this embarrassment that today INDIAN create. Indian not deserve to be Asian, they should be long to apes.

Go copy paste the fastest supercomputer on earth. Its about as easy as copy pasting your mars probe.

This is indeed a proud achievement. Do note that ISRO's budget is the same as CNSA's despite China's larger GDP and labor costs, which means CNSA's procurement budget is likely smaller than ISRO's. Both ISRO and CNSA don't even have the budget of Italy.

I hate to say things like this, but if both ISRO and CNSA was given their fair share of the budget, who knows what they could do?

How much is CNSA's budget?

Watch it friend, they're going to call you butt hurt--even though it is true. NASA provided deep space navigation and communications. Ungrateful indians did not even congrat the other parties involved. They want the glory for themselves.

They have reach euphoric fever but will be shot down back to earth soon enough. I'm surprise no western news mentioned that yet.

To have a mission on Mars' orbit, one needs

1. Entire remote sensoring & controling assets.
2. rocket
3. orbiter

For India's mission

1. all the remote sensoring & controling are done by NASA for free
2. the key parts of the PSLV rocket are bought from the Ruskies in the form of loyalty fees.
3. >50% key parts of the tiny 15kg payload are imported from ESA and NASA, ranging from key sensors to cameras.

4. all key components of the hardware of the mission are made-in-China, alos covering pretty much everything you see in the OP photos from computers to monitors.

Why so cheap compared to the missions of the West?

1. the West paid much higher salaries for the scientists involved.
2. Made-in-China components are lot cheaper than those of the West, doing the similar job.
3. India doesn't need to take deep space sensor&control assets depreciation into the cost calculation as the others do, because they don't have any.

It's a dumb claim that somehow the "sci-tech gained from this mission will benefit India's poor masses" as many Indians in the web cheer for.

What sci-tech? ISRO has no schi-tech. All the sci-tech involved that worth mentioning are imported from foreign countries.

It's wierdo what these illiterates are so proud of?

Of NASA? Ruskies? ESA? or of made-in-China?

because without any of them, India just can't shoot a potato accurately from Delhi to Mumbay, to be honest.

The ongoing soap opera from this ungrateful bunch is just in for a laugh.

We know this. I'm sure the Chinese government know it too. I just hope Chinese space agency was just "being nice" when he said China should work with india in space exploration. Seriously there is not much of anything they can provide to us. they will probably leech off our knowledge.

Btw, I did a Mars science project in the 90s for school. All the information I need was available at that time. I do not see any new valuable information the "Indian" mars probe will bring. Your comments?

Finally we have hit a golf ball from Tokyo into a hole in Paris ...... :p:;)

Sorry to say sir, but it seems that you have a very narrow and shallow bank of questions about space. I am not saying that you may be educationally challenged. But few, all over the world, have a great nac of asking questions. And these missions (I mean every single mission) may it be from NASA to ESA or to SUPRACO helps answer some or other question. It's not like if it's been told that xyz is true then it's true. It's true unless it's proven false. Like people used to think (And few here on PDF still think) that earth is flat and sailing to the edge will lead to a great fall. Well we all know what's the reality now, right !!

So these missions are there to find/ validate or negate few findings. Though it was not the primary motive, but what's the harm ?? It was a tech demonstrator and now when it's completed it's primary objective, let's focus on the secondaries.

@AZADPAKISTAN2009 , I would like to ask is JF 17 less pakistani (The pakistani JV part) that it uses american GPS or Chines BAIDU ?? Both provide navigation support. dose it mean that US/China are navigating ur planes ?? Or dose it mean that your pilots are inefficient so that they need external assistance from US/China ?? I am sure both the answers are "No". It would be foolish to think like that, isn't it ??

So following that same line of logic, I think that you speculation of US DSN or MAVEN helping MOM is ridiculous too. Think of them like international postal service. Now when u send a parcel to a foreign country, it's not the same postman delivering ur parcel to the recipient. It is handed off the a different postal service who has coverage.

Now Indian DNS handed over ENCRYPTED data to offshore DNS only when it went out of it's visible range. China too plan to used foreign DSN for it's moon lander. Moreover it was used to recover telemetry data from the craft. The course correction data, instrument data and health check diagnostics where performed only when we had full visibility from Indian DNS. The course correction commands where uploaded to the craft which used it's autonomous system to execute them when it was on dark side. The foreign DSN networks where only to be used as contingency if autonomous did not work, but fortunately it never came to it.

Plus as @k7x said the engines on Atlas Delta are Russian. RD- 180 to be specific. So did u congratulate Russia for MAVEN ??

Also you state that DSN is the ONLY key technology for deep space mission. So I suppose the launcher, the Payload, the Telemetry equipment, the Processing Powers for trajectory analysis and the precision fabrication of sensors and engines can be just cooked up in a back shed ?? If so why are we not seeing them being mass produced everywhere ?? Every thing that went into MOM was a result of a hardcore R&D and more than average intelligence.

Guys, I didn't get the chance to congratulate you folks.

Well done India, a fantastic achievement by any measure. You have put your country on the map and hopefully made other South Asians proud and set off something in them to emulate such success.

All the best with your programme.

I dontunderstand why some Chinese on here are so hurtbutt by this achievement. As one Indian member here said: Despite China being ahead overall in space tech relative to India, they are still not happy to see this achievement India has made.
Me myself i dont understand why they are so negative about this, ahd it been their country who achieved this, they would have been celebrating/boasting about it as well(just like Indians are doing now). So whats the problem in congratulating your neighbour for his achivement? even though they might be a rival, that doesnt means you shouldn't admire/congratulate their achievement.

Yes they did get help from Nasa, and some Russian components for this mission etc, But that doesn't change the fact that most of the work was carried out by them. So we should learn to give credit when due. Most memebers here are so biased so much so that they can never give credit/congratulate a rival country even when they know what the said country have achieved is commendable. I just dont understand this type of mentality. Please we are all adults, so let's learn to act like one. I always give credit to a country that strive to move forward, irrespective of the country, even when that country is not friendly to mine. Afterall, we are in a discussion forum and we are common civilians, not politicians/government officials or whatever, so we can act hostile as much as we want, but it doesn't change anything in our government policies/decisions. So why not act rationally, and be less biased?

Anyway,Congrats again to India for this mission. Keep it up.:victory:
