So that means 2 million Pakistanis will be earning degrees to feed 220 million???? That is abysmal.... Need to increase this number 10-fold to atleast 20 million. Use the extra space this oil field will provide (inshallah) to increase enrollment and investment in education.

Some OFF TOPIC discussion about education quality is going on over this thread, i have to add my few lines in this discussion from my own experience.

The 2 and 4 year degrees we get in our top universities is of no use for progressing in real meaning. Our engineers are not capable to do their tasks after passing degrees in good marks because of lame syllabus. We need short qualifications but genuine ones to meet the challenges. The qualifications offered by NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA in field of HSE is one example. An individual after passing these qualifications with reasonable marks is able to work in field without facing much difficulties due to the design of course. There are some other diplomas and certifications which are being offered by other bodies in field of physiotherapy, paramedics, automobile repairing etc which teaches a student the things he/she needs in their actual job.

BS is of 3 years in UK whereas MS equivalent to M.Phil in Pakistan is just 1 year long which means 6 years Pakistani education is only 4 years long in UK but with much high standards. Actually! our rulers did never thought on this matter, they came here, looted us and left...

• Syria ~ they are involved but that country has nominal oil

There was no oil in Afghanistan yet 'fredoom' visited them. There is oil in Saudia but 'freedom' has not visited them.

The US controls these countries which sell US oil and discount prices. If they don't then the US invade them and occupy them.
