Israeli soldiers lives aren't worth more than Palestinian lives. Because it's rare to have an Israeli soldier killed, some see it as a drastic development, it isn't. It's a long needed response to continued assassinations by the Israeli's on the Gaza border and they need to think rationally about their policies towards Palestinians in West Bank and Gaza.

Very heavy air strikes aimed at scaring the Palestinian people. But, if it is targeting empty sites it is better than having causalities and a severe escalation. Nobody wants a bigger conflict, however, Israel need to respect the right of Palestinian people to demonstrate.

What happened is Hamas's armed wing warned you from targeting border guards as a means to pressure Palestinians from organizing demonstrations. And Hamas followed through with its threat to retailtiate. Has nothing to do with Iran. Your operational acitvity in Syria hasn't changed and your own military has advised the political wing in Israel to consider diplomatic solution to Gaza.

Don't let your emotions get in way of rational thinking. Iran doesn't need Hamas for strategic reasons. It has Hezbollah for that, and even Hezbollah is independent to some degreee. Iran isn't responding from Syria because Russia and Strain government are requesting so. According to you they have attacked you before so you're contradicting yourself.

Israel has an occupation ongoing in the West Bank and a siege in Gaza which both keep it occupied yet doesn't affect their operational abilities elsewhere. Iran went to help the Syrian government and isn't interested in fighting with you there. If they really want to respond there they will.

Palestinians in Gaza have a lot not much to lose more than others in the region so they will likely respond to your military adventures against them. If that baffles you then you must understand the difference is one people are under an occupation with nothing to lose and other is under a mission ordered by their state in a separate country.

There are number of plans on the table to aid Gaza .But non of them is going to materialize as long as they shoot rockets and fire balloons into israel. No country wants to invest in a war zone.

I think it is in both side interest to reach calm so that a plan can be made to help Gaza economically. I think the sides need to understand that their fate are linked. If conditions in Gaza would deteriorate this would effect Israel too.

If Gazan burn with their fire balloons the fields and trees in Israel they breath the same air afterwords. What is the big idea behind that ? What massage does that convey ?

What is needed is calm and that the economic powers like the Arab oil countries and the west would start investing in Gaza.

I would also say peace , but it looks like it would take too long now to happen and i don't thing the situation in Gaza can wait. So i would settle for calm and any plan that would help improve things in Gaza. I think both sides understand that is in everybody's interest.
