TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) released ten US Navy sailors who had been captured inside Iran’s territorial waters in the Persian Gulf on Tuesday.
The IRGC Public Relations in a statement on Wednesday said the sailors were freed following an apology from the US and after technical and operational investigations indicated that the intrusion into Iranian territorial waters was "unintentional".

It also underlined that the US has pledged to prevent such mistakes in the future.

The seizure took place at 4:30 P.M. local time, Tuesday, when the two American combat vessels, with 10 armed sailors on board, entered Iran’s territorial waters near the island of Farsi.

The IRGC said the captured US troops, including 9 men and a woman, were treated properly, are fully safe and have been transferred to an appropriate location.

The USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier had been drifting out southeast of the Iranian island of Farsi in the international waters when the Iranian forces seized the two boats, while the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle had been also patrolling in the international waters northeast of the island at the time of the seizure, the IRGC added.

Later, US Secretary of State John Kerry spoke by phone with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif about the issue.

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Any “unprofessional” action by the US forces after Iran’s capturing of two intruding military vessels could have led to a “catastrophe”, the IRGC Navy commander said.

The US and French aircraft carriers present in the Persian Gulf were within the range of the IRGC coast to sea missiles, on Tuesday, when Iranian naval forces captured two US military vessels that had entered the country’s territorial waters, Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said on Wednesday.

after their captures, American carrier desperately started provoking and emotional Maneuvers in the air and sea for 40 minutes. He said any unprofessional action by them could have caused a catastrophe.

His comments came after the 10 UN Navy troops, who had been captured in Iran’s waters near the Persian Gulf island of Farsi, were released on Wednesday.

First of all Egypt also makes TOWs, secondly Saudis for example bought 13,000 TOWs just recently and many thousands before that. So they dont have any problem to give couple thousands to rebels (so far less than 1000 TOWs were given to rebels, thats nothing).

Yeah, Egypt is likely to send weapons to FSA after ISIS has taken parts of the Sinai. Those weapons won't fall into the wrong hands at all.

If America wanted to prevent the FSA from getting arms they wouldn't have sold any to Saudi, its obvious with that many the surplus would be transferred. Therefore America has every intention of arming the FSA.

Dont get offended. I see Iran and Arabs as Muslims not their ethnicity. Arabs, I m talking about the rich Arabs, have lost their foresight. While Iran stands up to Israel for Palestine, rich Arabs are secretly lining up to recognize Israel. This includes Saudi Arabia.

Arabs, rich Arabs I mean, have no principles. That is why poorest country of the Arab world, Yemen is being bombed into oblivion.

I see that you don't like Gulf Arabs. That's fine , its your opinion. But the rest makes no sense. Iran isn't standing up to US in Syria. Hezbollah isn't in Palestine and isn't active against Israel. Iran no longer supports Hamas and when it did the support was minor in comparison to what Hezb in Leb got. Both Iran and Arabs lost their foresight. None of irans policies in region have anything to do with Israel. Iran doesn't support Houthis because of Israel. It has interests in Yemen.

Well, I can't speak for Russians. Putin should have spoken, and I am no Putin.

But there is a big picture here which you have disregarded to see. One is that both Turkey and Iran stood up and did what was necessary to defend their sovereignty. A commendable action. Something most nations are not capable of doing so.

And yet there is even a bigger picture. That Iran does it without any help from others. While Turkey did it knowing fully well that it is a NATO state with NATO power behind it.

Iran did it knowing US is a reasonable enemy that wont go on full war with Iran over detaining 10 Navy personals that get freed in a couple days anyway.
On the other hand we have Putin talking about nuking isis.
