Breaking: Finance minister Miftah Ismael admits on CNN that PTI govt tried to buy cheap oil from Russia

As I mentioned it is better to seperate the two terms light-heavy and sweet-sour

it can be light-sour and sweet-heavy

high sulfur crude is a nightmare to transport and refine. screws up the FCC's. cause equipment damage form corrosion etc etc

heavy : more diesel
light: more gasoline/petrol

So, Urals is sweeter than Arab/ Iran Light, with lesser Sulfur content and is better for equipment and process, right?

Since we have settled sweetness/ sourness issue, how much heavier Urals is compared to both Arab and Iran Light?

the arab light and urals "appear" to be equivalent. question is about sulfur speciation.

the urals compostion does not sound very promising at all!

This chap mufta has proved in a little over 1 month that he is the most incompetent of the imported government ministers. The real munshi is sitting in London.

>>>>According to Pakistan’s development plan for the oil and gas industry, the country has a total of six operational refineries with a processing capacity of up to 19.4 million tonnes of crude oil annually. However, owing to several financial and technical issues, the total output of these refineries in the last financial year has been around 11.6 million tonnes. As a result, the local refineries can only meet 20 per cent of the local petroleum requirements; therefore, the remaining 80 per cent is met by importing crude oil and refined products worth $2.22 billion, as reported in April.>>>

So even if pakistan refinery are operating at 100% capacity, They will meet only 34 of of the countries petroleum needs.

So why is all this hoopla about russian oil purchase when you bottle neck is in refining

What am i missing?

IF this sect survives to the return of Hazrat Esa AS, it would fight not with but against.

In Sha Allah, it will be completely eradicated by then along with Deobandi and Ahle Hadith etc.

Would it be better to do nothing? If you can reduce your need for refined products by 15% you should and then work hard to find either workarounds or build new capacity for the rest.

Besides it's likely, given the Ukrainian quagmire Russia has gotten itself into and the EU sanctions-the Russians will be willing to still sell refined products at a discount. I'm not a huge fan of the Russian's human rights record, or their history of corruption, but I do believe Shahbaz Sharif said something useful here, what was it?
Ah, that's it-"Beggars cannot be choosers".

lot of speculation. 15% reduction in refined product use? thats the kinds stuff which leads to economic collapse.

assuming you refine 34% of your needs, reduce 15%, still leaves with 50% you have to import.

sorry son you are spinning wheels. try reducing your gasoline usage by 15% and let us know how it affects you.

Where is the response from Russia?? We are writing them since 2017 but they are not responding.

I think there is difference in commodities, we sell rice to Iran and we buy vegetable fruits from Iran, but we can't buy oil, gas, LPG, plastic, fertilizer, cement etc.

But Sulfur specification of Urals is better than Arab Light, right?

What is the composition of Arab Light? Can you provide breakdown of Arab Light too, and compare it with Urals?

Hi,

Excellent question. To mitigate our refining capacity woes in short term, we resort to import Petroleum Products (mostly from GCC). The hoopla is, why can't we import the same quality products at discounted rates from Russia - can our power plants not run on Russian Gas, FO and HSD? Can Pakistani motorbikes, cars, buses and other vehicles cannot run on Russian Gasoline and Diesel?

Look maryum nawaz our supreme leader says we cant put fake russian oil in cars or refineries..
