Very good but with such a limited range, it won't do any good other than serve in Littoral waters. If someone tries to invade , very effective, else no.

How is it more effective? By tonnage it is 3 Type 056 rolled into one. As for Kora class other than ASW and sensors role it is superior in every aspect to Type 056. Even in ASW role it has a helicopter for those purposes. Currently Type 056 has none.

Type 056 ASW own towing sonar.

The PLAN already has 13 Type 056 corvettes in service with a total fleet of over 60 planned! The 056 has a range of roughly 3,500 nautical miles (same as the P28) and comes fully armed with anti-ship missiles, anti-air missiles, a CIWS and anti-submarine torpedoes.
The 056 was designed to have low displacement (1,400 tonnes) in order to have high degrees of stealth during anti-submarine operations. This is because the 056 performs spirit and drift tactics when hunting submarines which significantly reduces radiated noise and makes the ship very hard to detect from enemy submarines.
The 056 also has its own advanced towed array sonar which helps it detect submarines at a far greater distance than traditional hull mounted sonar's.
Only a very small number of P28 corvettes will be built.

Simple fact, P28 has superior sensors. Armament wise also superior. True only a few will be built but they are actually frigate going by armament and tonnage. It is named corvette for name only.
