We are all witnessing the aftermath of an incident that is thoroughly testing the complex relationship between Pakistan and the United States. There have been instances before which have spread enough misunderstanding and hostility among the two nations; yet the leadership of both countries have in the end remained committed to working through and resolving these problems. Reason for this lies in the fundamental fact that both countries know what is at stake. We both realize the dire need to work together because peace and stability in Afghanistan are in the national interest of Pakistan, and vice versa. The Bonn Conference is a golden opportunity for Pakistan and Afghanistan to bring their concerns, regarding insurgencies and peace negotiations, to the table and work towards a solution. The future of Afghanistan is of vital importance to all its neighbors. Hence, we, the Afghan government, and even Pakistan have all acknowledged that lasting peace in Afghanistan cannot be achieved without the help of Pakistan. We understand and fully recognize the frustration and anger felt by the Pakistani people and government. However, we cannot help wondering how this decision would benefit the national interests of Pakistan. If Pakistan believes that bringing peace to Afghanistan is good and necessary for Pakistan’s sake, wouldn’t a boycott of the conference prove counterproductive, since peace negotiations with the Taliban is an issue that Pakistan has to deal with in the future?

Boycott of Bonn conference is good decision as Pakistani PM said he can't protect Pakistan sovereignty so how can we help to bring peace in Afghanistan? First we have to protect our borders then we will think about other countries.

Lol the Hangover is getting over.US THE PARTY IN AFGHANISTAN IS OVER.Now without pakistan u are no more a superpower. We were those who defeated USSR to make u the sole superpower but u are ungrateful pricks u want to finish us and this would prove to be the end of US Empire

We dont take decisions decisions are taken by the Government go and give this mesege to govt as we will never help u because we got some selfrespect we are not like our rulers and ministers may be they listen to u not us

Our own internal and external security is top priority, which has been shattered into pieces by incompetent NATO and ISAF unable ton control borders..guess what..your involvement in Afghanistan has made the situation worst for the entire region..and the biggest victim is Pakistan..not once but twice..during the 80's and post 2001's. Both time your own hegemonic policies resulted in massive exodus of cave men into Pakistan armed with extremist ideology and AK-47, bomb making skills, etc etc. Bonn conference can go to hell!!!

Oh you shut up!

Americans and the west wouldn't know shyt about Pakistan's interests.

It was a joke man lol. It is kinda true since we don't have strategic bombers.

Deigo Garcia is roughly 3500 kilometers from the southern most tip of Pakistan , this is within reach of the long range missiles we have

From a 2006 dated picture , one can be B-52s stationed there

Don't worry Centcom,Pakistan will be there. Its just some childish tantrums its throwing up now.Just drop the hint that india will be taking central role in Afghanistan then see how soon Pakistan establishment rushes to BONN or wherever you say.

The Reason we are not attending may also be the same , You see without Pakistan & Iran This conference will be just a Vacation trip for Leaders of various countries, we do know that india will be given a key responsibility by US there is no hidden truth in that, but if The conference is not successful then how do you think India is going to get the role they are so itching for ?

we Know how to safeguard our interests.

US desperation is setting in. And indians keep begging for a place. What a pathetic story of history of waste!

I think its only due to frustration and desparation that Pakistan dint board the flight to Bonn , else theirs was to be the first flight to touch down in Germany !!! :smokin:

You Sir should be very well aware of the fact that we can & will take care of our interests as you are in CENTCOM and probably have access to information that others don't, you are going to Spend almost 1 month on inquiry of an incident that could have been finished in 3 days & you know it , what is the reason of delaying the results ?

Bonn conference is for the future of afg, but if that future is not in the favor of Pakistan we will do our best to change it or at least modify it to the extent that it becomes workable for us . You guys see your interest in Bonn as you need a graceful withdrawal from Afg after that you will be gone but we have to stay there is no way we will agree to a solution that will threat our security in future.

We r building roads and railways there, not sending any Jihadi elements...OK..So go to your home from the cybercafe and sleepwell because taliban is coming to attack on you..Bye bye..
Hey wait,....don't forget to learn geography...

I too think we should have gone to the Bonn conference and raised the issue of attacking Pakistan there.

The road to peace in Afghanistan cannot be achieved by killing Pakistanis by Americans. At the Bonn conference we should have pushed that first address Pakistan's concerns and then we'll entertain the thought of bringing Peace to Afghanistan. Peace has to be brought to Pakistan as well.

I think they dropped the ball on the Bonn Conference. It should have been used a grounds for a match up with the Americans.

Asim, I'm sure the Pakistani government must have weighed the advantages against the liabilities when deciding to attend the Bonn conference or not.
