The costumes, regalia look splendid, imho. So during the time of the Mughal Empire, what dialect or language did the Mughal Emperors use? Was it Hindi? Persian? Urdu?

As you may know the word Mughal is a bastardized word of the original word "Mongol"

Mughals are direct decendents of Genghis Khan and Timur. They used Persian as the language of the court but since the local Indian population mainly spoke Hindi (also called as Hindustani), a new language called Urdu got formed with a mixture of words from Turkic, Persian and Hindi.

Well obviously they bought some civilization into india..tributing occupation powers seems to be a national psyche in India and Pakistan..
