The number of English speakers and its influence has only increased after the British left.

Some are proud of being ruled by the British.

Yes Tamils will seek independence soon, Hindia is for ******** (Hindi speakers) Hindia did not honor the promise given by Nehru to Tamilnadu (to remain in Indian Union) i.e no Hindi imposition on Tamils. If India cant honour its promise there is no point in TN staying with Hindia - An UN sponsored referendum similar to Khalistan has to be held by 2020. The task now to revive the Tamil nationalism momentum. Kick non Tamils ( Gultis etc) hiding under the national/regional Dravidian party political mask and Tamil traitors who pimp their family to ********. Pakistan/China/Lanka can contribute their share to speed up the Balkanistaion of India as it's to their interest. Tamils have been fighting Hindi imperialism since 1918,

English is the official language of India to many South Indians. If two Indians with different backgrounds get together, the expected communication medium would be English.

What do you mean rule? How can a language rule..? Language is a tool for communication, thats all. It is not something to be proud of or ashamed for. Most educated Indians are multi-lingual. Living in such a diverse country, we are adapt well and thrive in the globalised world. At the same time, we respect our languages none of which are in the danger of going extinct.

British ruled because of the princely states alliance and it was hardly 150 years.

Republic of India adopted English language as english was already an International language as United States adopted english language.

3) Alladi Krishnaswami Ayyas

Indian law is in English.

Yes, Modern Indian legal system originated during the British rule. Many of our core laws be it Indian Contract Act or Indian Penal Code date from 19th century and obviously are in English. We have retained them post independence for convenience. Rather than redraft the entire thing in Hindi or Tamil or Telugu which would be quite a chore. Not sure what your understanding of India is. It is union of states which have come together for a common purpose and self interest. We are not warring groups who have been teleported next to each other. We have coexisted here for many centuries and respect each other. Self-interest drives all human endeavors. Nationality itself is an artificial political grouping to serve selfish human interests. A single language can be tool for unifying a people, but is not the only element. Look at Germany and Austria.

This clearly shows that it's the English that United India and we can infer that without Britain, India would be a geographical expression with mostly Muslim ruling states. This rulers would dominate local Brahmins, which in turn lord over the local castes and Dalits are under everyone.
