Big Three could control revamped ICC

so BCCI is running out of money so that it only care to invite others to keep money flow ? :D
England last time won, no ? o_O

Duh...hosting a small team which won't fetch much from television rights but will incur same cost as any other is what BCCI try to avoid...more so the hectic schedule which India has where India play far more number of games compared to any team by far doesn't give a window to play series with small teams. How many times do even England or Australia or Pakistan play with u...hardly 1 or 2 times is 3-4 years...why ? bcz they have better opposition to play with...same with India. India play against Australia or SAF or Eng far more than other teams. Plain economics.

England won 2-1 in Test series and lost the ODI series which followed it. T20 series was a draw 1-1.

Bangladesh can play with with our B grade teams.....
Win-win situation for both........

Calling it bad for cricket would be an understatement. Making FTP on bilateral basis will mean no more India-WI or Eng-Bng or SAF-Zim series. It would be good for fans of top 4-5 nations but what about other smaller teams ? Shame ! And shame has no limits when it comes to BCCI along ECB & CA :disagree:
Also cricket is a minority sport among international sports.....this will make it even more of a minority as it will discourage newer nations from joining the game!

How many nations are playing cricket lol
This ranking is useless No 1 can be beaten by no 7/8 at any time. Its all depend where they are playing :D

My assessment on the situation:

India, England, Australia will all vote in favour of big three as they are going to be the biggest beneficiaries. New Zealand has also opted to vote in favour of this decision.

Conclusion: +4 VOTES for Yes

South Africa, Sri Lanka and Pakistan has already strongly opposed this decision.

Bangladesh has also opposed but admitted they do not have much power in the ICC. The way they are commenting, they are likely to vote against it.

Conclusion: -4 VOTES for No

West Indies seems confused and they are still discussing the matter. They have opted to refrain from making any statement over the matter until they reach conclusion.

Zimbabwe if for vote sake asked is likely to vote for No due to diplomatic reasons. They have had problems with English cricket board and their tour was even cancelled due to political reasons. Why would they want to see their political-enemy taking over the whole of cricket board and dictate them even further?

Requirement: At least 7 out of 10 ranked nations need to vote for Yes in order for this proposal to go through. 4 nations seems definitely against the idea in my opinion West Indies & Zimbabwe too seems like will vote against it.

I think having the proposal of big three on board itself is a big achievement but it is highly unlikely to ever become reality.

I would also like to highlight the bitter relationship of CSA and BCCI. This big three proposal has technically divided the ICC and formed two lobbies that are likely to remain in near future to support & defend each other's cause.

Lobby 1: BCCI, ECB, ACB, NZC falling in one lobby
Lobby 2: PCB, CSA, SLC and BCB forming a lobby against Lobby 1's dictatorship.

West Indies, Zimbabwe are considered minnow in ICC meetings anyway and they are likely to remain as neutral as possible.

This lobby is going to remain in near future and will only bring more chaos to ICC.

Imagine, CSA is number 1 ranked Test team, Sri Lanka is number 1 ranked T-20 team in the world and they will be governed by number 8 T-20 ranked side Australia just because they can fetch more money in the game?

Your lobby 2 doesn't stand a chance...u wanna know why ? leave making profit, your lobby 2 need tours from Big 3 even to break even. Ask CSA or SLC or Windies of not hosting any series with Big 3 and those board will sh|t in their pants.

Draft proposal could hit a snag :disagree::disagree::disagree:

Even I don't want this proposal to pass dude...but Tier concept in Test cricket is what I m in favor of. I just think this revamp proposal thing is a bargaining chip for Tier concept to get approval from all.
Tier concept is good but problem is 2nd Tier test systems will not be considered as official test matches, if this get passed then BD will not be able to play official test before 2019 (starting from 2015) are you kidding me ! ! :cheesy:

Well that shouldn't be the case. There should be two tiers of 5-5 teams each and a promotion-relegation concept after every 2 years with team from either tiers swapping for two places.

two tier system is not current choice because it will question the ranking system if they do not play each other, solution is distribute same no of matches for all, do you know how many test and ODI matches we have played in last two years? 6 test matches and 17 ODIs only ! !

your rants weren't funny at all

But thanks for writing your post.

@Topic

Dictatorship never works at international level. Previously BCCI and somewhat ECB were accused of keeping full control of ICC and imposing their decisions upon other boards through ICC but now they have decided to take over officially. Even ever sleeping FICA has also come up to oppose this decision and save International cricket to few thugs only. ICC need to have strong hold over all the cricketing nations and their first priority has always been to promote this game worldwide. That is why cricket is now officially being played in over 100 nations from mere few which you could count couple of years ago.

ICC need to expand this game and not give control to few nations only. If that happens, I hardly see any expansion in this game of cricket. ICC needed more powers for expansion programme and they rather decided to surrender. What a incompetent authority...

We are not making a system of three but the three will rule the system.......
And power is not decided by numbers but by money......:cool:

call it gambling and play it in pubs then why to play it in grounds and call it cricket.

Some idiots polluted it already
