Bhakts Going Crazy Blocking Bangladeshi Appliances: Make-in-India Not Working

Based on 2019 data, Bangladesh imports from India for Washing and Bottling machines is $15.2M while exports to India is $108k. So BD imports atleast 150 times more worth of washing machines than it exports to India.
India cannot even sell its electronics to other 3rd world countries and it has no chance against Walton who are in a different league to them.

Thier economy is already pretty open. They even have china coming to them. It is india which has problems being an open economy - both usa and china have scolded india on it.

Ashok Leyland trucks/buses, Hero Honda motor, Mahindra and others already have large scale assembly plants in Bangladesh and have large markets here. And there are many other Indian companies already here. We never block Indian companies to export or assemble here, or that of any other country for that matter.

Bangladesh is a free-market economy and has been since Pakistan times.

This is the washing machine market share in India.

The Air Conditioner market share in India:

I don't see any Bangladeshi company in here🤔

Going by some of the posts in here, it looks like we'll have to pole vault into superpower Bangladesh😂

India makes about US$50 Billion every year from Bangladesh, by tourism, medical tourism, illegal remittance from Indian nationals working in Bangladesh and legally and illegally exported products to Bangladesh. This one-sided income by India is unsustainable situation and cannot continue as it has for more than two/three decades.

Whether amount of exported items from Bangladesh to India are nominal now does not matter, Bangladeshi exports are way more competitive than Indian items made in India itself. If India has to maintain Indian exports to Bangladesh, it cannot get away with illegally blocking Bangladesh exports to India.

If Indians are okay with consuming Chinese products, there cannot be any problems consuming Bangladesh product. Let the open markets decide. Whether Bangladesh products are exported via OEM name or by Bangladesh brandnames.

You'll be in good company, many lakhs of your compatriots are already illegally working in Dhaka, from line manager to "C" level folks.

I mean Walton may not be there now but sure in the future , I mean your kind was the one to destroy Chinese made electronics because the government said so how pathetic :haha:

By the way your kind is the one who shouts at MUH HUH INDIA SUPWAPOWA not us , focus on dealing with China and your people not dying from Covid before you even think at poking at us.

Those are mostly cellphones assembled with Chinese parts, and cannot pass muster in any country with "certificate of origin" clauses, like the ones Indians use to block imports to its own markets.

Indian electronic products exported mostly to 3rd world unregulated markets like those in Africa where certificates don't matter - or officials can be bribed to circumvent rules.

Bangladesh has also started this export to 3rd world markets like in Africa, and their products will invariably be cheaper, to boot.

Bangladeshi companies like Walton already export to advanced regulated markets like EU and US - where certificate of origin, GKAS and ISO certification standards are rigid requirements. Dhokeybaaj Bhakt Banyas don't bother with those certification requirements and are just happy pushing garbage low quality products to Africa markets.

I like how India is going against China while knowing it needs China , and then having the audacity of screaming SUPWA POWA 2020

I think you are looking at Garments washing machines and bottling plants which are specialized things used in Industry and hundred times more expensive than consumer machines.

We are talking about consumer market items here. No one in their right mind would buy an Indian washing machine for their home. At least not a good one, which does not sell by dint of price alone.

Everyone knows Bangladeshi local product is higher quality than Indian product, especially refrigerators. Which also is supplied to OEM brands sold in India. Ditto with TV's.

What is the market share of IFB washing machines in India? That product was based on Bosch technology and basically fell flat on its face because Indian consumers were too kanjoos to buy them.

Give Walton some time , by leadership alone they will do better

India has no alternative other than China for manufacturing, calling Chinese names is stupid. Chinese know this very well also.

China is the most economical source for parts for cellphones and any other consumer item and appliances.

India does not make jack squat in India itself which is anywhere near Chinese world-class sophistication level or even when you count economy of scale. Chinese products vary in price, range and quality.

Indians don't care about setting up local backward linkage because they know they can just import from China and get done with it, like they always do. Easy way out.

All this talk about 'indigenous', 'atmanirbhar', 'make in india' is just a bunch of hot air.

The thing is that India loves to shit on Chinese quality , but their quality sucks even worse which forces them to actually buy Chinese,Japanese or Western brands.

The quality sucks due to leadership and corruption lol

I am just tired of india this and that...these morons keep telling us about super power in manufacturing...self sufficient in defence bla bla bla...by 2020 this...by 2010 that...now 2025 cause some PLI lol they will be self sufficient lmao....2025 they will come up another new time line...BS will continue...

Rest of asia has passed them...south east asia did now bangladesh too...Indians after 10 years will make over jealous comments against Somalia or Afghanistan once they pass them too. This shit will continue next 50 years.

I remember 10 years ago most indians use to make fun of china now they are 6 times bigger. Just bunch of salty loosers.

Many Indians aren't like this in real life bro, they're smart and well mannered. They're careful to not step on anyone's toes, which is a good trait.

The game of the dhokeybaaj bhakt Baniyas is to dupe gullible Indian consumers in the name of "deshprem" (patriotic hoopla) and sell them a third-rate "indigenous", "Make-in-India" 10 Taka item for 100 taka (such as cellphones of horrible quality). If course smart Indians and us Bangladeshis all know that none of the Indian-assembled products are indigenous, but that is beside the point. Too many gullible stupid people in India.

These harami baniyas had it best in India's closed-economy period (between the 1950's and 1980's) when all imports were banned and they had licenses to make anything from lipstick to chopsticks in India. Those golden harami days to make tons of money and fool the Indian consumer won't come back anytime soon, so they (in cahoots with super-crafty Modi) have invented this "Make-in-India" scheme to make third-world quality third-rate non-competitive items in India and sell it to Indians at first-world prices.

Why do I say non-competitive items? Because if competitive foreign items were to be introduced in India by opening up the Indian economy, none of the products made by these Mahindras, Adanis, Birlas and Ambanis would sell anywhere in India. By controlling the home market of 1.4 Billion consumers and cheating them hand-over-fist, they are happy (huge captive market). Who needs exports?

Gullible Indians don't know that said cellphones have all Chinese parts inside (slapped together in India at minimal cost by workers who aren't even allowed to sit for eight hours), and the parts too not the best from China (not the fault of the Chinese). The Chinese will give you the exact quality you want, which in India's case is as close to low-grade as possible. All made to a price and designed to be obsolete (and go bad) in less than two years. Maybe only the casing and logo is made in India, which are themselves bad quality. Look in Youtube for reviews for Karbonn and Micromax phones, Indian reviewers themselves are giving these garbage phones brutal reviews (flexes and breaks in the middle just like a Brittania biscuit).

Bhakt-style dhokeybaaji and cheatery practices at their finest.

The upper class educated Indians don't believe in the Modi hoopla. It is the uneducated BIMARU Goonda cow-belters that are the problem. Very racist and Islamophobic, enabled by RSS rule in India.

Lol. You think Goonda cow-belters would have the IQ to come on PDF and speak to you in English. I mean what is your IQ by the way? Seems, it is seriously lacking.

You think we take your rants seriously. Bangladeshis can make me chaddis, that's about it. Thank you.

Exactly my point. A sane Indian person and consumer at last! :-)
Yup, we should all engage in constructive business and trade so that the end consumer wins. Let the market forces decide which companies stay and which fall by the wayside.

What's the status of Indian goods like automobiles in BD, do they have a presence at all ?
