Hmm how is that your problem?
Hinduism always encourages Vegetarianism and even Western nations are enjoying the benefits of being Vegan.
Less cancer risk,Less heart problems, less High blood pressure problems,Diabetes risk is less.

Who made you a spokesperson for Hinduism?

Keep your conservative views to yourself...if Hindus don't move with the time, we will remain behind.

Nothing wrong with Beef or any other meat.

Selling beef can only feed a family for once, but a cow can feed a family for lifetime. Even though i'm neutral to this, but i believe the government should push for more dairy products based market, such that poor families will see more profit in keeping the cow, than slaughtering it for beef.

And the rise of Hindu India begins.

Now don't loose your sleep over it.

After Maharashtra, Jharkhand plans to clamp down on cow slaughter

BJP-ruled Jharkhand will amend a 2005 law to bring in stringent penalties for cow slaughter and smuggling and sale of beef, officials said on Wednesday, aiming to follow Maharashtra in clamping down on violators.

Chief minister Raghubar Das spelt out the government’s proposal during his budget speech in the assembly on Tuesday, drawing a long round of applause from ruling BJP legislators.

Earlier this week, Maharashtra imposed a blanket ban on cow slaughter and beef trade, stirring a nationwide debate on the issue and irking opposition parties and civil society organisations which questioned the “restricted mind” of BJP-ruled governments.

The erstwhile BJP government led by former chief minister Arjun Munda had brought in the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Ordinance in 2005 which was later made an act. It carried penalty of Rs 5,000 and imprisonment of up to five years or both for offenders.

Raghubar Das was the deputy chief minister of the state then and had played an instrumental role in the passage of the act in the assembly.

Officials in the chief minister’s office, however, said the act was never “implemented holistically”.

A senior official not authorised to speak to the media said that the BJP government was planning to increase the imprisonment period to up to 10 years and make cow slaughter a non-bailable offense, unlike the earlier act.

“Now that the proposal has been tabled in the assembly, it’s (just) a matter of time when the changes will take place,” said Sanjay Kumar, principal secretary to the chief minister.

The BJP and its allies have a strength of 48 in the 81-member assembly.

The opposition said the government’s move will violate citizens’ rights.

“They (BJP) are working on the agendas of the RSS,” state Congress president Sukhdeo Bhagat said.

Sushanto Mukherjee, central committee member of the Left’s Marxist Coordination Committee (MCC), said the proposal was “baseless” and was intended to violate the basic rights of citizens in the country.

“I should have the right to decide what to eat,” he said.

Sources in the All India Gaushala Federation in Jharkhand said that the state is a major source of cattle smuggling to Bangladesh, a Muslim-majority country.

At least 5,000 cows are smuggled from Jharkhand to Bangladesh every month, mainly through Rampurhat in West Bengal, about 65 km from Dumka district, sources said.

@MokshaVimukthi @About.to.be.banned @Screambowl @wolfschanzze and others..

first a ban on cow slaughter in maharastra, this move adversely effecting the availability of cow meat in goa, and now jharkhand planning to ban cow slaughter...brace up guys we will be witnessing sickulars whining and calling us names hindu fascists, Indian taliban, bhakts and what not...

bhai, even hindus and tribal people eat peacock. but by law hunting and killing of peacock or even trading its feathers i prohibited. do u support this move by govt.?? If so how is peacock any different from cow ? why should cow slaughter be seen differently from hunting peacock ?

Argument does not stand.

What about chicken? If you keep one then you have eggs?

If you want to stay ahead, do that in front of education, by practicing science, culture and improving society as a whole.

You think by eating beef, you'll liberate the society?

Yes, if people finds more profit in selling eggs, then eventually that should be true too.

There are some Hindus that are strictly vegetarian and others even eat beef. Why Hindutva not banning all meat in India ? As you said it would bring benefits of better health and welfare. Chickens, Lambs, Fishes, Goats, etc also deserve to be saved from the slaughterhouses.

Is this thread about kukkad? Chicken is not banned

Why Chickens are excluded from ban ?

Why Chickens are excluded from ban ?

1) Chicken industry is huge, it will take time to ban it and create a substitute
2) Prohibition is strict on Cattle, and advised to be vegetarian.
3) There is no compulsion whether one remains vegi or non vegi , except for BEEF
5) Killing any living being is prohibited unless until it comes to one own's life(for self)

Yes. It will liberate our minds.

Breaking with these ancient taboos that have outlived any purpose will liberate us to think of the future rather than the past.

And Yes, eating beef is one of these.

The first taboo is itself that eating beef will liberate mind and you will achieve knowledge. It is similar to Black magic, like sacrifice of a cattle. :)
