Manusmriti (Chapter 5 / Verse 30) says,
“It is not sinful to eat meat of eatable animals, for
Brahma has created both the eaters and the
eatables.”

Manusmriti (5 / 35) states:
When a man who is properly engaged in a ritual does not eat meat, after his death he will become a
sacrificial animal during twenty-one rebirths. (All BJP Supporter will be sacrificial animal in their 21 rebirth LOL)

Maharishi Yagyavalkya says in Shatpath Brahmin (3/1/2/21) that,
“I eat beef because it is very soft and delicious.”

Apastamb Grihsutram (1/3/10) says,
“The cow should be slaughtered on the arrival of a
guest, on the occasion of ‘Shraddha’ of ancestors and on the occasion of a marriage.”

Rigveda (10/85/13) declares,
“On the occasion of a girl’s marriage oxen and cows
are slaughtered.”

Vashistha Dharmasutra (11/34) writes,
“If a Brahmin refuses to eat the meat offered to
him on the occasion of ‘Shraddha’ or worship, he goes to hell.”

“You will be surprised to know that according to ancient Hindu rites and rituals, a man cannot be a good Hindu who does not eat beef”.

Maharishi Yagyavalkya says in Shatpath Brahmin (3/1/2/21) that,

First in the Satapatha Brahmana, 3.1.2.21 there is a gross interpolation from western scholars echoed by indolologists around the world that the great sage Yajnavalkya would eat the tender meat of cows and bulls. The word dhenu which they translated as cow factually refers to the milk products of the cow only and not the cow herself and the sanskrit word anaduh factually refers to the grains produced by the bull from ploughing the fields. What exactly Yajnavalkya has stated in this verse is that he can eat what is amsala. The interpolators, some being ignorant and some not so ignorant of the rules of Panini have translated amsala as being tender flesh. Panini is the authority on all matters concerning the rules of Sanskrit grammar and according to sutra 5.2.8 of Panini the word amsala can only mean nourishing and strength bestowing. Also in the Amarakosa 2.6.44 it states that amsala is mamsala which never applies to flesh tender or otherwise. Mamsala specifically aplies to cream and sweets made from milk products as well as fresh and dried fruits. So there is no basis according to sastra for translating amsala as flesh.

Fact: The mantra states that in winter, the rays of sun get weakened and then get strong again in spring. The word used for sun-rays in ‘Go’ which also means cow and hence the mantra can also be translated by making ‘cow’ and not ‘sun-rays’ as the subject. The word used for ‘weakened’ is ‘Hanyate’ which can also mean killing. But if that be so, why would the mantra go further and state in next line (which is deliberately not translated) that in spring, they start regaining their original form. How can a cow killed in winter regain its health in spring? This amply proves how ignorant and biased communists malign Vedas.

Fact: The mantra states that brilliant scholars enlighten the world in the manner that wood enhances the fire of Yajna. We fail to understand from where did Avtar Gill and his friends discover Indra, cow, calf, horse and buffalo in this mantra! Also, there is a word "Gavyam", which are five in numbers according to Aayurved-cow's milk, curd, butter, Mutra and Apashisht. Where does the flesh come into the picture? Mantra clearly says that the king should be well built through Saatvik bhojan like Ghrit, so that he can defend his country and kill the monsters.

After Maharashtra, Jharkhand plans to clamp down on cow slaughter

BJP-ruled Jharkhand will amend a 2005 law to bring in stringent penalties for cow slaughter and smuggling and sale of beef, officials said on Wednesday, aiming to follow Maharashtra in clamping down on violators.

Chief minister Raghubar Das spelt out the government’s proposal during his budget speech in the assembly on Tuesday, drawing a long round of applause from ruling BJP legislators.

Earlier this week, Maharashtra imposed a blanket ban on cow slaughter and beef trade, stirring a nationwide debate on the issue and irking opposition parties and civil society organisations which questioned the “restricted mind” of BJP-ruled governments.

The erstwhile BJP government led by former chief minister Arjun Munda had brought in the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Ordinance in 2005 which was later made an act. It carried penalty of Rs 5,000 and imprisonment of up to five years or both for offenders.

Raghubar Das was the deputy chief minister of the state then and had played an instrumental role in the passage of the act in the assembly.

Officials in the chief minister’s office, however, said the act was never “implemented holistically”.

A senior official not authorised to speak to the media said that the BJP government was planning to increase the imprisonment period to up to 10 years and make cow slaughter a non-bailable offense, unlike the earlier act.

“Now that the proposal has been tabled in the assembly, it’s (just) a matter of time when the changes will take place,” said Sanjay Kumar, principal secretary to the chief minister.

The BJP and its allies have a strength of 48 in the 81-member assembly.

The opposition said the government’s move will violate citizens’ rights.

“They (BJP) are working on the agendas of the RSS,” state Congress president Sukhdeo Bhagat said.

Sushanto Mukherjee, central committee member of the Left’s Marxist Coordination Committee (MCC), said the proposal was “baseless” and was intended to violate the basic rights of citizens in the country.

“I should have the right to decide what to eat,” he said.

Sources in the All India Gaushala Federation in Jharkhand said that the state is a major source of cattle smuggling to Bangladesh, a Muslim-majority country.

At least 5,000 cows are smuggled from Jharkhand to Bangladesh every month, mainly through Rampurhat in West Bengal, about 65 km from Dumka district, sources said.

@MokshaVimukthi @About.to.be.banned @Screambowl @wolfschanzze and others..

Wrongly quoting the vedas.
No beef eating in Vedas.

Pulses are rich in protein too. More over, this beef industry requires ten times more water than irrigation. So we will save water too.

Why stop at cows ? How about being a vegetarian according to Hinduism ? Why don't Hindutva brigade target all Hindus that eat meat ?

Rice require ten times more water too ! Ban rice irrigation too !

Hmm how is that your problem?
Hinduism always encourages Vegetarianism and even Western nations are enjoying the benefits of being Vegan.
Less cancer risk,Less heart problems, less High blood pressure problems,Diabetes risk is less.

And there you have the problem, because the question itself is wrong! The constitution of India DOESN'T safeguard the sentiments of hindus over any other religion, but takes them as equals. Therefor any law that gives preference to one religion is unconstitutional!
And please read my post once again, because I'm not making any point in favour for any religion or against one, but pointing towards the flaws of the law against the constitutional rights anyone has in India, just as I showed that it can't have an economic factor for the state, since it includes the possession of beef procured from other states.
Also, why does the law allow the slaughter of certain buffalo's for the beef on the one hand, but at the same time make the possession of that beef illegal? Doesn't really makes sense either right?
Aren't you sounding like secularu? anyways we may agree to disagree..
