we call it zoolbia (weird name I know)
It usually comes with a similar pastry called bamieh and they're both pretty good. We eat it with tea though.

You are right buddy. Jalebi actually came to india from Iran only. There are many more delicacies in india having their roots in different parts of the world, especially from the famous silk route civilizations.

question (since you mentioned paya and kabab ) yummy, is this food halal? I know in india, the issue is more about veg or non-veg but when it comes to non-veg, does the restaurant specify if the food is halal or not?

For ordinary Indians like us it is the question of veg and non veg..there are may indians who do not eat meat.

But yes large establishments like KFC and others do mention Halal for their customers, particularly where there are large number of muslims.

Same way the best muslim owned food joints and restaurants like zeehsna, arsalan, shabir et al, in Calcutta ( I live here) do mention

yes thats the issue, being more popular than the other..

some examples are Ganesha is more polular among Marwaris, and the entire Hindi speaking belt of UP and bihar

Bengalis worship Lakshmi mata more than Ganesha..They also worship Kali mata more than shiva and again again worship Durga in a particular form which other Indians do not worhip..so you are right..so no difference in perception of Hinduism but yes popularity is a valid word..

the above is incorrect, bhoj isnt weight as you say, need to be more dilicate on the syllables dear..

you are referring to bojh (as in kandhe par bhari bojh hai)

This is bhoj (meaning meal in Hindi) and yes Puri means the same the way you show it.

It is a culture and a language as well, one of the oldest and the most prevalent of all indian languages and it is not a cast, you can say a different linguistic group ..

And the most important fact is it is a regional dialect of Hindi ( no the hindi that we speak, which is an evolved form called Khari Boli, but the hindi as was prevalent in the medeival ages.

Well thats news to me as well.

THe manufacturer here in India is Hamdard and it is an ayurvedic/yunani medicinal company.

The brand rooh afza sells here since the past 100 years.

Of course Pakistan wasnt there 100 years ago, but my question remains and that is whether it is Hamdard who makes this syrup in Pak as well????

This yogurt drink is popular all over the place actually. I have a Bulgarian friend and apparently they drink this stuff 24/7 over there.

one quick question Nima..Indians have this drink in two different ways and are known by different names..

with table salt - chaanch
with salt and sugar - lassi
