Now you are clutching to straws. Bihar, UP are open book of poverty, you don't see Indians claiming otherwise, By the grace of Allah, however, poverty is in decline, growth is high in these regions, but there are countries in the neighborhood of India where poverty and illiteracy is increasing than decreasing, where export is falling, loan is increasing, tourism is decreasing, reputation has hit rock bottom, healthcare is in tatters and rely on enemy for medical treatment, now that is worrisome...isn't it?

Because your post was retarded . Its a city of 2 million how are you comparing it to hill station in India with few thousand population ?

LOL the thread became retarded the moment you compared Islamabad with Washington and Canberra with useless parameters while in reality it can't be compared to even Dhaka on parameters that MATTER.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Happiness_Report

The World Happiness Report is a measure of happiness published by the United NationsSustainable Development Solutions Network.[1] The World Happiness Report is edited by John F. Helliwell, Richard Layard and Jeffrey Sachs.

Data is collected from people in over 150 countries. Each variable measured reveals a populated-weighted average score on a scale running from 0 to 10 that is tracked over time and compared against other countries. These variables currently include: real GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, generosity, and perceptions of corruption. Each country is also compared against a hypothetical nation called Dystopia. Dystopia represents the lowest national averages for each key variable and is, along with residual error, used as a regression benchmark.

So Basically Happiness report is HDI + Corruption perception + Personal freedom + Social support all important areas where Bangladesh lag behind . Name me one useless criteria here .

You can compare Science and Technology . Whilst Pakistan is not where it should be its still ahead of Bangladesh .

Number of research papers

2016

Pakistan 40 rank
Bangladesh 59

http://data.worldbank.org/indicator/IP.PAT.RESD

Number of Patents (2015 )

Pakistan 209
Bangladesh 41

Am not surprised we are ahead in most indexes .

He is using 2017 IMF figures for Bangladesh and 2016 for Pakistan . I have seen the IMF figures . 2017 figures for Pakistan haven't been revealed yet .
How do they calculate generosity?

GDP nominal is almost equal. PPP Pak well ahead. BD is surely more corrupt. But BD has better HDI, higher life expectancy. Dunno about freedom and social support.

This airport looks OK and it has a major flaw. Read below to find out

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has admitted a major design flaw in the runways of the New Islamabad International Airport due to which two aircraft cannot land or take off simultaneously.

My question is, a city that claims to be similar to Washington can't even build an airport properly?

That's not a concern for you to worry about .

Dhaka/Lahore/Karachi have similar populations and are more comparable as compared to a planned city . I don't know about you but people from abroad seem to compare it to an American suburb .

My journey began in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. Islamabad, meaning Abode of Islam, is Pakistan’s government and financial center. It’s an affluent city built 40 years ago at the base of the Margalla Hills. Pakistan’s capital looks more like a wealthy American suburb than the government center of a developing nation – immaculately kept tree-lined sidewalks, large forested parks, three story homes with multiple Mercedes parked out front.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — Much of Pakistan’s capital city looks like a rich Los Angeles suburb. Shiny sport utility vehicles purr down gated driveways. Elegant multistory homes are tended by servants. Laundry is never hung out to dry.

In Islamabad, a quiet, artificially-planned capital, like Brasilia, Canberra or Washington, D.C., the streets are wide and many of the houses are large. The city can often look and feel like a boring American suburb. There are white grandiose stone buildings for the President, the Parliament and the Supreme Court, but there never appears to be anyone around these buildings, except for armed guards.

So Islamabad at most can be compared with suburbs and not a bustling city like Dhaka. Fair enough.

BD members should not aspire to build a small fancy suburb where only corrupt politicians and their kins live, but rather bustling cities, center of trade and commerce, education, culture, and tourism.

We get it, you are ahead in most important parameters like happiness index, freedom index(bonded labor anyone?), excitement index, enthusiasm index, etc....while BD and India are ahead in most useless parameters like literacy, GDP per capita, HDI, GDP growth, Forex, FDI, healthcare, education, export, tourism, etc...we understand how useless these parameters are...totally

Lahore/Karachi are both better than Your BUSTLING cities of center and commerce . Education wise Lahore/Karachi's universities rank in QS world ranking while there is not a single Bangladeshi university in rankings . Tourism wise more tourists visit Pakistan than Bangladesh .

Karachi is planned mostly in grids and has symmetrical patterns in most of the city towns(there are 18 towns in city of Karachi). This is somewhat missing in many Indian and Bangladesh cities.

Many second and third tier towns like Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala, Rahimyar Khan, Bahawalpur and many more are also planned in a symmetric way and in grids, with wide roads and inner roads.

This is Wah town and cantt near Islamabad. Many smaller towns like this in Pakistan which is not in the radar....

Its New Airport is about to open in August this year .

For Tourist attractions / Architecture / Lahore or Karachi offers more variety because Islamabad is a new city .

Isloo's Airport was designed by the same Singapore Airport consultancy group that is building Dhakas (HSIA) new third terminal.

CPG CONSULTANTS PVT. LTD.

By the way, is the airport still being named after President of China Xi Jinping?

That was an april fools Joke:D . Probably Gandhara International or Liaqat Ali khan International Airport . I would just like them to call it Islamabad international airport .

Bd has not enough space for these kind of planned city, they will only lived in flooded river banks, even new delhi in no way near to Islamabad.if you don't believe check it on internet, from last few years Islamabad is at second position in list of most beautiful Capitals of the world and Washington D.C is at first position, now not jealous any more and concentrate on new delhi or purani delhi.thanks

LOL, its funny your brought New Delhi that is home to the most profitable metro (not bus) network in the world that run for 300 KM, home to some of the world's best universities, some of the best hospitals where even Pakistanis flock in hundreds for checkup, an Airport that has been time and again been listed as best airports in the world, with historical sites that attract tourists not from India but across the world, where world's leading companies run their offices, and is home to international standard sporting facilities including F1...I am just offended by such comparison.

Please talk when you can have the following in any of your cities in your lifetime.
