Lahore/Karachi are both better than Your BUSTLING cities of center and commerce . Education wise Lahore/Karachi's universities rank in QS world ranking while there is not a single Bangladeshi university in rankings . Tourism wise more tourists visit Pakistan than Bangladesh .

I think you have your facts wrong.

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology and Dhaka University (very large reputed public universities) are both in the rankings when I looked at the site right now. Plus there are quite a few US accredited universities in Bangladesh. The most famous is North South University (see below) - whose credits are accepted by major US universities. But this is silly, why are we going into this phallus measuring exercise, especially basing this on some insignificant measure from some private ranking organization ?

LOL, its funny your brought New Delhi that is home to the most profitable metro (not bus) network in the world that run for 300 KM, home to some of the world's best universities, some of the best hospitals where even Pakistanis flock in hundreds for checkup, an Airport that has been time and again been listed as best airports in the world, with historical sites that attract tourists not from India but across the world, where world's leading companies run their offices, and is home to international standard sporting facilities including F1...I am just offended by such comparison.

Please talk when you can have the following in any of your cities in your lifetime.

From 60's - 2005 Pakistan had the better airports/Infrastructure and the higher Income . Enjoy your 15 minutes of joy while it lasts . For 50 years you guys had maruthi's and suzuki's when there used to be Mercedes and BMW's on our roads  .

Lahore is also not as dirty or polluted as delhi . Dirtiest and most polluted city in the world

QS and Times are the most reputed rankings and I don't seem to find any Bangladeshi University there . IDK maybe you should ask your posters who go in overdrive mode every few weeks and start comparing with Pakistan

  1. Bd has not enough space for these kind of planned city, they will only lived in flooded river banks, even new delhi in no way near to Islamabad.if you don't believe check it on internet, from last few years Islamabad is at second position in list of most beautiful Capitals of the world and Washington D.C is at first position, now not jealous any more and concentrate on new delhi or purani delhi.thanks

I don't know what to say....:D

I guess now I have to crawl back to my shanty shack by the flooded river bank.....

Those jokes posted by @Khan_21 were initially quite hilarious but now becoming pretty annoying. I didn't want to get into this dick measuring contest but now just to bring him back to earth, some real facts:

There is not a single global luxury brand store in Lahore, yet Khan_21 would say the Lahore malls are comparable to that in KL or Bangkok. I mean seriously?

I have also checked the lists of hotels in Lahore and surprisingly, this 'great city' doesn't even have a single international five-star chain hotel. Heck, even cities like Addis Ababa, Freetown or Kabul have got one or two but this 'international standard' 'first-world comparable' city Lahore doesn't even have a single. Why is that Khan_21?

I have no idea from where this Khan_21 got the audacity to say Lahore or any Pakistani city for that matter is way ahead than Bangladeshi cities. Chittagong has a circular railway and is set to get the first ever underwater expressway tunnel in South Asia as well as the longest marine drive in the region among other things. And I'm not even mentioning the development projects going in Dhaka.

Only some pics with empty roads doesn't make a city big!

If you look in the QS asia section and then filter by Bangladesh, University of Dhaka has a ranking of 109, BUET has a ranking of 159.

Times does not list Bangladesh as an entry. That's the fault of the list (QS as well).

These rankings don't really mean squat to us. We aren't trying to attract foreign students.

We have more than our hands full with local students.....in fact a significant number go to IIT & IIM in India, NTU in Singapore and Malaysia for various programs every year because we cannot accommodate them locally.

Lolzz, Compare to Kochi metro then.

probably not (clue :PPP)

You want me to compare the motor vehicles per capita ?

India didnot overtake Pakistan's per capita till 2009 . That was the one of the rare instances since independence that you guys overtook us .

http://indianexpress.com/article/in...re-than-pakistanis-world-bank-report-2868430/

According to the World Bank, this per capita disparity between India and Pakistan was in the reverse about two-and-a-half decades ago. Then, Pakistan enjoyed a much higher standard of living. India has been successfully and steadily moving up in terms of income earning since 1990. The actual change in favour of India occurred in 2009 when its per capita income overtook and surpassed Pakistan’s for the first time.

http://www.livemint.com/Sundayapp/J...dia-and-Pakistan-A-tale-of-two-economies.html

Karachi is a brown city. It’s not just the arid landscape that dominates it. In part it is the male version of the ubiquitous national dress—salwar-kameez—worn in pastel shades. Mostly, it is the colour of the public and commercial architecture, betraying signs of an economic boom that was aborted by the early 1990s, before monuments of glass and steel came into style.

Nowhere is it more apparent than Karachi’s Jinnah international Airport, the biggest one in the country. It completed its last expansion almost a quarter-century back. And it shows, especially if you have flown in from the swanky new airports in Delhi or Mumbai.

Coming from India to Pakistan (or the other way round), the first natural instinct is to compare and contrast things with home. At first glance, apart from the Urdu signage, not much seems to separate Karachi from Delhi. It is a cliché, but people are really like us—and once they know you are from India, can be uncommonly kind and generous.

Roads are rather wider and smoother actually—but traffic signals are not much more than polite requests. The motorway-like city roads of Islamabad might give you the false impression that you are in a developed country.

Houses in the posh ‘Defence’ area of Karachi, named after the army-run upscale property developer—Defence Housing Authority, or DHA—can give South Delhi bungalows a run for their money in opulence and taste.

It didn’t have to be like that. A decade ago, Pakistan’s per capita income was still much higher, despite India’s vaunted growth story, reflecting a lead consolidated over the preceding four decades.

Even as some Indians enviously heard and read stories of fancy imported cars on Pakistani roads and lamented the pre-1991 socialist choices of our leaders, a closer look suggests that there was not much to differentiate between the two when it came to policy.

Meanwhile, India has tasted economic success and overtaken Pakistan on most indicators. In 1990, the per capita income (using 2011 constant prices) in India was 1,773 PPP US dollars, just 58% of Pakistan’s. It took India two whole decades to catch up and now we have lead of 20%.

But these figures hide the heterogeneity in income levels within the country, and India continues to have a much higher percentage of its population living under poverty. The contrast is starker when it comes to incidence of absolute poverty, and India has a lot of ground to cover.

Wasn't until 2009 that India finally overtook us thanks to the effects of Terrorism that halted our growth . Like I said we were driving mercedes for decades when you were walking around with maruthi's .

So for 65 years Pakistan was ahead and now you are slightly ahead for 7-8 years all hell break's lose :D

Bahria Town Rawalpindi...has taken a lot of pressure from Islamabad...good facilities all around.

In fact, Bangladeshi universities receive thousands of international students every year, including Pakistanis.
