Yes? And they don't lose their linguistic heritage just because they are minorities. They need to learn Bangla to live in cities or other Bengali majority places so they can communicate. Why do you learn English? Because to communicate with people of other countries that don't speak the same language as you. Here the minorities learn Bangla so they can communicate with the Bengalis. Well I need to learn two languages while an American can get away learning only one. Heck to live in Sweden I have to know some Swedish as well. Making it three.

You are the one who don't get it. There is no law that prohibits them from their own language and identity and treats them fairly by giving children books of their language to learn and grow up. They learn Bangla for communication. But to say it is in any way similar to a government law based upon religion, is simply wrong.

Religion prohibits their followers many things, like beef or alcohol. Put it simply, do you want India to ban beef in ALL THE STATES that have hindu majority just because they have a majority? Do you agree with the Chinese banning fasting in ramadan because those atheist don't agree with it?

If you don't that means you want secularity when another religion or ideology oppress your religious people but you go around doing the same to others and don't want secularity for the christian hindu or atheists? For things like non halal food or beverage. Why do I have follow you what your religion says? State serves all and needs to be secular. State can't enforce or write laws based on any religion. religion has no place in Government. Everyone gets equal treatment whether they are minority or majority. The majority can't decide minorities rights based on their religion.
