Bangladesh’s first Quran sculpture to be unveiled on Sunday

My country was not the topic, was it?
Why not? You have big mouth and pride about democracy. And you also believe that democratic right isn't tyranny. But during current BJP regime Muslims are beaten and even killed in North India while in South India Hindus eat beef too.
Situation was not same in Congress regime right ?
Since you used "Hindutwa PM

Is it ? Will your prime Minister disagree that he is spoke person of Hindutva ? However I said Hindutva not Hindu .
So here is no insultation! It's just not my style to insult any individual!
Rajiv Gandhi is Hindu too right ? But is he hindutva pm? Does Congress hold hindutva ideology ? They don't !

It was exactly the same. DIfferent states had different laws about cow slaughter and beef eating. Southern states could eat beef under Congress regime, and still can. Northeatern states could eat beef under Congress, and still can. Biharis could not eat beef under Congress, and still cannot. Muslims (but more so, Dalits) have been killed before in central Indian states, for cow slaughter. In fact, far more so. You can search news from before 2014 if you want to verify.

The only thing that has changed is your perspective, not our laws. Cow slaughter has always been a state subject, and still is.

I'm pretty sure that he would. But if you want to know for sure, you will have to ask him. "Mr Modi, are you the spokesperson of Hindutva?"

Why these Indians come to teach Bangladeshis about state affairs and Gandu pseudo seculars of BD are high on drugs with their Mantras to make BD lawless faithless. While Indian constitution by nature isnt fully secular by default.

"Satyameva Jayate" (Sanskrit: सत्यमेव जयते satyam-eva jayate; lit. "Truth alone triumphs.") is a mantra from the ancient Indian scripture Mundaka Upanishad.[1] Following the independence of India, it was adopted as the national motto of India in May 1949.[2][3] It is inscribed in script at the base of the national emblem. The emblem and the words "Satyameva Jayate" are inscribed on one side of all Indian currency. The emblem is an adaptation of the Lion Capital of Ashoka which was erected around 250 BCE at Sarnath, near Varanasi in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is inscribed on all currency notes and national documents.

Keep your projection to yourself. Why would law need faith? Country's law serves all it's people, not the majority or the minority. No one entity has any more right than the other in the rule of law. India is IN NO WAY a secular country. A country that has one of dumbest law of beef ban in even some of the places CANNOT call itself secular. A country includes everything in it, they can't cherrypick states to say India as a whole, the country is secular.

BD doesn't need to follow India in the rule of law, or any social parameters in any way. BD is the most progressive nation in South Asia, especially in women empowerment. It's India who needs to learn from BD.

India is neither our benchmark or something we need to compete in. We set our own benchmark and BD is a secular country where religion has no place in the government.

Can you please ask that guy what specifically he finds in Islam/Quran that is of 15th century, that doesn't apply to today's politics and how it is not able to run the state?
Doesn't teachings of Quran force the govt to deal justly with all the people irrespective of cast and creed, doesn't Quran teach us to take care of needy and poor, doesn't it teaches us that a ruler is answerable to each and everyone in state, I mean what is in Quran that is not applicable to today's world?

I made a reply to a statement about the nature of democracy in general - not about India or Bdesh in particular. I also corrected a member when he said that the US mandates its presidents to take oath on god, which is not true. I did not bring India or Bdess into my replies, until asked to.

Now if you want to quote ancient Hnidu scriptures, there is a statement from the Rig Veda that exhorts you to imbibe wisdom wherever it comes from - India or Timbuktu.

"Aa no bhadah kratavo yantu Vishwathah".

Religion has no place on how a state should run for the simple reason a state has people from different faith or faithless. A state cannot have favouritism. Everyone is equal. Secularism is the way to go. You should come out of the 15th century and join the modern world.
Why don’t you change your name first before you talk about constitution?

Understood. But The problem is they don't support your claim
They say ,
'86% killed in cow-related violence since 2010 are Muslim, 97% attacks after Modi govt came to power'
Perhaps you would like to educate me with different sources ?

You seem confused. It DOES NOT MATTER what a particular religion teaches. Your religion, you practice it, your private matter. IT DOESN"T HAVE ANY PLACE IN THE GOVERNMENT and THE RULE OF LAW. Government is for everyone. Government doesn't need religion to know what law should be passed that will affect people of every faith or faithless. Religion is a private matter, not a governmental matter.Teachings of a religion has no effect on the viability of wether or not it should have any effect on the law. It doesn't matter if the teachings are good or bad, religion simply has no place in the government, you keep it to yourself and whoever else believes in it.

Why don’t you change your name first before you talk about constitution?
Religions now patented names, have they? I love my name, would never change it for idiots like you

Its you who seems confused to me who think that religion is just praying to God and that's it. Religion is not just worshiping but its a code of life, a set of code and ideas, how to spend your life and that applies to state institutions as well after all they are run by people like you and me and not some aliens. Please learn the proper definition of religion first before calling it a private matter, your worshiping is your private matter that is just a small part of religion.

Not sure why you would bring it up. India and PK has been two most backwards countries. India is secular in name only. Doesn't have a shred of secular bone in their body. A few states are somewhat secular but most are backward on every social indicators. BD is the only one that have been far better in social indicators than any other country in the subcontinent

According to you and your religion. I have no qualms if you follow those code of life. I simply don't care how you choose to live by your own life and what code you follow. What you can't do, is dictate how others like myself live by the rules. You can't dictate how I live my life if it doesn't follow your religious code. You have a need to follow that code, not me. I have no interested in it and neither do you have the right to dictate how I live my life, just like the Cristians in UK have not right to dictate muslims rights according christian code. You have your right to follow whatever code you want as long as you keep it to your and you fellow believers, the moment it tries to dictate my life is where your 'rights' stop. That's what secularity is. You keep to you band and I keep to mine. And since the government serves all people and sets laws THAT AFFECT EVERYONE, it cannot have a religious influence.

I appreciate your secular spirit but no country is fully secular. Even BD is no way secular.
There are two references to Islam to in the introduction and Part I of the constitution. The document begins with the Islamic phrase بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ which is translated as “In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful”. Article 2A declares that Islam is the state religion of the republic.
The constitution has a paradox of including both secularism and a state religion.

Present Gov in power has some black history in the past so we have to constantly keep them in check so that they dont revoke above and we have ideological similarity with that country you were implying to. Hope you dont also grow agony against that for time being. The constitution was drafted in a troubled time so there is always suspicion of outside involvement in that. Also BD most progressive nation without full democracy and wtf is socialism. Only in practice is one party politics, secularism is just a cover up. Nationalistic agenda should be followed to apply rule of law. But that is also absent.

State religion doesn't really have any or at all meaningful impact in the government and rule of law. Just like North Korea is ''Democratic People's Republic of Korea''. It's just a statement and nothing to do with actual governance.

It's not as though I am saying the government can't do anything for the religious anyway. Anything that helps Bangladeshi people is I am with. Here in Malaysia, there are things that help people, like the halal foods. It doesn't infringe upon others right to eat non-halal items or alcohol but having halal indicators on food items help the Muslims. I am with anything government does that helps people as long as they don't infringe upon my rights, such as using public money to build and run mosques, churches or temple. Because it makes it easier for the citizens to practice whatever they believe and does not affect me personally. But then you go on banning alcohol, there you go infringing my rights. Your religion forbids you from drinking and I understand that. Won't force you to drink. But you can't ban me from drinking because of your belief. Or the Hindus can't ban beef because of their belief. Nobody is forcing beef down their throat. And you can have halal haram labels forced by the government to make people's life easier if you want. Because it doesn't affect anyones rights. But don't stop me from eating 'Haram' things when I don't have the same belief as you.

I am guessing you don't like it when people in other countries use their faith to refrain your faith like beef in India. Yet here many people are advocating the same just different religion and on different people. LAWS should be secular. I shouldn't have to go to jail for drinking. It's your belief and you are free to practice it but don't infringe on others rights by forcing them to live by your set of rules.
