Cobra Unmanned Ground Vehicle is the first Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV) designed and manufactured completely in Bangladesh by technology startup SIGAS. The company informed BDMilitary.com they built the first prototype which has demonstrated numerous handling functions for defence, law enforcement and civilian applications including use in rescue operations.
The Cobra is a lightweight, low-maintenance, low-cost robust modular platform enabling users to reduce risk to human life and quicken response time in critical situations.
SIGAS states their UGV is capable of negotiating mud, sand, tarmac and slippery ceramic surfaces. Additionally the Cobra is able to effortlessly climb steep stairs to access any urban structure too risky for humans to approach. This may prove particularly useful during aftermath of any natural or industrial disasters that have frequented Bangladesh.
SIGAS commenced the design phase in early 2017 and by December the developer completed initial testing. Their product will undergo further testing in the next few months to determine if electronics, communications and production techniques are required to be refined. SIGAS is willing to work with the potential user to tailor the Cobra according to mission-specific requirements whether it be for EOD, CQB assault or post disaster surveillance.
Performance standards have been designed to be competitive against comparable unmanned ground vehicles in this weight category currently available commercially on the international market. SIGAS specialised in the development of highly-capable electro-mechanical systems for crisis management applications.
Contact SIGAS more information on the Cobra Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV) if you seek commercial investment or purchase opportunities.
