How many guys ever flew half the world in a single go. Its all dark as soon as you cross Iran.. Whole sub continent is like sshit hole at night from the plane above. My personal experience. Every city I flew over subcontinent looks like same sshit. Its the fact guysss...

Most are taken on low altitude while on landing approach or immediately after takeoff. Clear pictures of ground from a cruising altitude of say 38,000 ft is welcome.

He doesn't say anything about comparing Amritsar with NY. He just wanted to show that even an average city would look beautiful at night provided they have power. Also his picture of Amritsar at night blows your "I cannot see anything in SA at night" theory right out of the water.

To see a city from 35000 ft above ground need real power not an average city power. Thats why it looks shhit hole the whole subcontinent at night.
Regarding your shining india satellite picture, thats because the whole India is inhabitated. Most of the dark places in the satellite pictures are not densely inhabitated. Where there are people there must be some sort of lights and when accumulated, that looks shiny when taken from high definition satellite cameras.

The guy in question brought amritsar when I said about the night views of western developed countries even though I did not mention LA or NY as there were 100s of cities of that capacity.

In that picture they look as shiny as India to me...

Look at Iraq Iran, Kuwait etc. They are all dark. But I promise you that you can clearly see Tehran, Dubai, Kuwait from 35000 ft above like glittering with hell fire..
