Bangladesh military 57th most-powerful in the world

Doing business is one thing but involving them in so many Government projects is a bad idea.
If Army will be involved there will be no corruption. Anyway I will choose any works from Army than corrupted money monger civilian businessmen.
Like if Army take the tender of making a road , atleast it will be a good one.
They will not use duplicate products like some corrupted civilian contractor.
So we won't have to suffer.
In future it may create problem as Army may interfear to get more projects if Government does not give it to them.
Government has to give them unless civilian businessmen become honest.
Roads, bridges and all things are made by our tax money so I prefer Army and honest plus skilles civilians to take the responsibility instead of corrupted thugs.

I myself is a businessman. You know nothing.

Civilian business does not need to be dishonest. They always keep their margin in a honest or dishonest environment. They will always make money. Fix the officials.

Bangladesh is poor country and Army don't get paid much.
And anyone is free to do business.
The system of EU won't work. If police has polwel market then why Army can't have?
All bullshit are just to suppress Army by the sanghi paid bastards.
This OP is one of them, a filthy yellow journalist paid by R&AW.
A lot of project is given to the army. And they were efficient. They can have a market like polwel...not that anyone would care. But making them like Myanmar where military controls most of the business is not a good idea.

Look...money = Power.

IF money is in the hands of civilian govt, they have the power to run the country.
If money is in the hands of army, they run the show like Myanmar, Pakistan.

16 soltam ? [emoji38]
and where is KH-179 155mm howitzer ?
this list is completely outdated and just show only 100 of D-30 122mm Howitzer is also doubtful as we have produced 100+ recent years with China's assistance. [emoji38]

Myanmar acquired about 50 KH 179 39 cal 155 mm from Korea in 1990s. (some sources said 38, 2 regiment plus 2 pieces for training)

I am not sure about KH 178, though there were some rumors of it.

Myanmar also secretly acquired 105 & 155 mm ammunition factories from Daewoo of Korea. . . for which Lee Tae Yong, the President of Daewoo International, was indicted in 2006.

So. . Myanmar is not just using KH 179, but also manufacturing NATO standard 105 & 155 mm ammunitions since 2005.

RIP sanctions.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Myanmar is also producing D 30-2 locally since 2011 with the aim of replacing the older M 101 and M 56 105 mm howitzers.

Since 105 mm do not have any offensive capabilities, they are being replaced with 122 mm and they are deployed only in static fire bases for defensive role.

I myself is a businessman.
আহ এইটা আগে বলবেন না ভাইজান? তাই তো বলি যে আর্মী কাজ পেলে আপনার জ্বলে কেন ;)
Anyway I assume that you are honest businessman, make others honest so all will be beneficial.
Fix the officials
তালি দুই হাতেই বাজে কিন্তু। isn't whole Bangladesh infected by corruption? Business folks take loan from banks and then don't pay back.
Who is responsible? Both right ?

Dude PK and MM both are military country, they squeezed everything they can from the people. The war doctrine for both the country is "Live of the Land".

BD is not like that. No enterprise is run by military in USA/China/Russia/Korea or any other country.
So dont bring bad example for us to follow.
LoL.
Learn AWT (Army Welfare Trust) of BD military.
So many funny online field martials in PDF BDshis who know nothing about own military.

I have repeatedly said in other threads also, for us Pakistanis, it doesn't actually matters if Bangladesh goes downwards or if goes upwards. Most Pakistanis will want Bangladesh to progress because it is another Muslim nation in the world.
This is exactly the case with Bangladesh also.As a part of the muslim world, we wish Pakistan peace and prosperity. But it does not affect us in anyway whether Pakistan rise to the pinnacle or goes down to the gutter. Pakistan is 2000 km away. It is the same distance from Bangladesh to Vietnam if we goes to the east.So what happen in Pakistan does not affect us in anyways.Even when Pakistan was almost tearing itself apart with daily terrorist attack and bombing, killing and mayhem few years ago, it did not cause any vibration in Bangladesh. But we have good wishes to Pakistan just like other muslim countries like Kazakhstan, Senegal, Kosovo or Djibouti.

At the very least, Burmese military officials know how to get things done.

YOu dont know how things work. Army does not do the work by itself. They eventually hand over the work to the private companies. Most of their work is done by Abdul Momen group.

I told you to fix the officials.. that will take out one of the hand. There wont be any clapping. Private companies are not obligated to do that but the government officials are. Thats what they paid for.

It is a whitewash by the Military elite to convince people we are doing good. Although the ground reality is Bangladesh military is in backfoot.

Last I heard Bangladesh Army wants to operate a taxi company in Dhaka. This is unthinkable to me that a military organisation wants to operate taxi services.
The millitary seems to be preoccupied with the beautificatons of the cantonment at the moment, building "community centers", stores and lavish spires for mosques. The millitary can be best summed up by these words which I have heard from a guy in FB, and i quote " The most honest person i have ever known in my life works in the army, and the most corrupt person i have knownn also works in the army". so i guess they have their fair share of good and corrupt.

Also, they have indeed started a taxi service ,and so much more.

Not being able to beat rebels does not mean they are not able to fight against conventional military. US hasn't been able to beat taliban and lost in vietnam, that doesn't mean they will perform poorly vs conventional threats.

You are pulling wrong assumption. You have related US to MM. Its absurd. First understand the events which help US against conventional threats.
International Sanctions:
Whenever US go against a conventional force they place International sanctions on them them first. Can MM apply this on BD? Infact its MM which is under severe restrictions. During any conflict, international community will be on BD side and BD will get whatever help it needs.
Hostile Neighbourhood:
The US win against a conventional force which is alien in its neighbourhood. ie Saddam's Iraq, Hitler's Germany. Is BD in a hostile neighbourhood, if got attacked no place to run? Infact Vietnam and North Korea survived because they had China shelter. And Taliban got shelter in neighbouring mountains. Both MM and BD are stuck in may or may not option in this case, to be determined through turn of events.
Superior Armed Forces:
You are assuming MM and BD armed forces with arm count and all. As if we are sitting on a plain field to attack each other with whatever in hand. As said earlier they have edge in Air force. But BD has edge in Navy and BA will be in comfortable position as MA movements through Arakan Yoma will be difficult and they cant place all their assets against BD at once as they have other things to worry. A portion of US and ally assets are enough to flatten many conventional forces. Same isnt the case for MM.

Those victory day parades' pictures you see them posting - that's for victory against Pakistan. And last I checked, weren't they doing economically better than you?

And who told you that those pictures are real?? India Media ??? Bangladesh cannot even stand against our military and I know very well what happened during 1971 war. Your own Indian General told the world how we fought and beat the hell out of Bangladeshi military.

And the last you checked was completely wrong, they had never been economically better than us. I don't understand why economics newbies like you comment on such issues which are far away from your understanding? :D

It's actually better. I used to think BD would be at 157 :D
:D

I hope you are being honest, because it is not apparent from the behavior of your compats.

And don't worry, Pakistan, InshAllah won't "tear apart" regardless of what you or any other enemy or hater of Pakistan may think. By the grace of Allah, Pakistan knows how to take care of situations as such.

I only wish betterment of Pakistan. :-) Most of the other Bangladeshi also want a peaceful, prosperous Pakistan. After all Pakistan is a muslim country and like all the other muslim countries, we have a soft corner for Pakistan also, despite 1971.

Look Forces Goal 2030 is a wishlist, not even a shopping list. Forces Goal 2030 is not defence doctrine neither a military policy. It is a whitewash by the Military elite to convince people we are doing good. Although the ground reality is Bangladesh military is in backfoot.

I do not discount the fact AL government made progress in the economic sector and defence sector as well. However, both economic and defence sectors are dynamic. The progress in Bangladeshi defence sector is pretty slow, and regional militaries are ramping up the progress. Bangladesh cannot keep up due to the geopolitical environment and incompetent military officers. Bangladesh military has many commercial interests at home not to mention UN peacekeeping police aboard.

Regional military such as Malaysia with similar budgetary allocation made many signs of progress in the defence sector. The brains of Bangladesh military leadership stuck at UN peacekeeping and commercial interest that they cannot get out of it. Last I heard Bangladesh Army wants to operate a taxi company in Dhaka. This is unthinkable to me that a military organisation wants to operate taxi services.

None of the members here in the defence forum cannot comprehend how much incompetent those military officers are?

You do know that Malaysia defence budget has been 3 billion US dollars or more for last decade?
BD started with just 1 billion dollar budget when Awami League came into power and only this year crossed 3 billion US dollars.
