My ancestral home was in India
Which Village, Which district of India?
My father's side was from Itna-Dhaka of India, my great-grandfather later purchased some large chunk of land, around 2000 acres in Barishal of India and shifted there. My mother's side was from Khulna of India.
Later some religious bigots with extremist views decided that they being the religious majority in some parts of India should not live with the religious minorities of their own kind, and they pitched for dividing India on religious lines. Riots broke out, and our families being religious minority Hindus in that particular part of India had to leave behind everything, including some dead bodies of our family members, and leave for the part of India where we were religious majority. A year or so later, the part of India where our ancestral homes and properties were situated broke off from India and become a new country 'East Pakistan', 24 years later that part again broke off from 'West Pakistan' and became 'Bangladesh'. But that happened later, ancestral homes of my parents were in India when those were there homes.
Hope that explains.
Umm, I don't think so. But yeah, hope is a good thing.Maybe someday humanity will be above all other petty things that make people murderers of their own species.

Enemy property act was one time affair during 1965-1971 war.During Pakistan period, properties of hindus who left for India was named as enemy property due to 1965 war.Afrer Bangladesh independence there is no Enemy property acts.Properties which hindus left during Pakistan period renamed as Vested property. You are making an impression here that Bangladesh govt. is currently forcefully taking away hundu's property by leveling them enemy which is not correct..Those Hindu who have gone India after 1971 done so with choice and they sold their property here and gone India with cash.Perhaps they don't want to live side by side with neighbors who eat cow or thought streets in Kolkata are build with gold, diamond etc.Bangladesh also has an "Enemy Property Act", right?

Many of the Bihari Muslims lost their family members as well before migrating to Pakistan. It was a two sided affair. Anyway I am sorry for your loss.
If only Chittoranjan Das and Suvash Chandra Bose Could live a little Longer.

Hello, what are you smoking? Dhaka of India? Barishal of India? Khulna of India? You could have said parts of East Bengal before they became parts of Pakistan , not India. Now they are parts of Bangladesh.
