You are right on airforce but not on either Navy or Army.

BD Navy is the only one with subs and it is also the only one that has proper SAMs on it's ships. Myanmar has man-portable SAMs on their ships lol.

BD Airforce and Army is equipped with the FM-90 which has multi-target capability and range of 15km. While this cannot provide area defence, it is enough to defend targets such as airbases and army barracks from MAF attacks.
Medium range SAM such as LY-60 will be coming soon as a tender was put out for that earlier this year

BD army is far more professional than Myanmar and as you have noted it has won border clashes hands down. It is safe to safe that if you take out the MAF, BD Army will roll into Arakhan with ease.

Onto the air-force lastly. This is where it gets interesting. For some bizarre reason, Myanmar has decided to purchase 16 JF-17s which will become prey to the 12 SU-30SMEs that should arrive in BD by 2019. The 31 Mig-29s that are not even that modern will not fare much better.

So on current trends BD military will totally dominate Myanmar one by 2019.
Myanmar just seems to buy anything without any long-term plan, whereas BD maybe spends too much time but in the end gets way better equipment for the same money.

Yes but MAF can do some damage to BD with their 32 Mig-29s. BD only has 8 in response.

In the end BD will win as the MAF is not large or sophisticated enough to stop the highly professional BD army overrunning Arakhan. It is silly to compare their rag-tag army to the professional BD one.

Once BD gets the 12 Sukhois in 2019, BD will attain complete military superiority over Myanmar.

Indian business community has deep investments in Bangladesh in textiles and various garments and garment related industries + telecom and others. Also the West Bengalis have immense economic ties to Bangladesh.

Indian govt in efforts to contain China has deep state investments in Myanmar for energy security.

However in the case that Myanmar starts to advance into Bangladesh and Indian warning to Myanmar are ignored I dare say IAF to the rescue.

Do not worry about Myanmar advance into BD, it will be the other way round.

Their air-force will be desperately trying to stop BD army overrunning Arakhan. I do not think that 32 Mig-29s can make much difference especially when BD airforce can give them some opposition and their Navy is sunk by BD submarines relatively quickly. BD Army will also have mobile SAM cover from FM-90.

In a war, MAF can sink a few ships and drop some bombs on BD cities and that is about it. In return BD army will take Arakhan - seems like a fair swap to me.

Something I should point out to you the basic Mig 29 has nearly zero air to ground capability.

But MAF has other bombers who would be escorted by Mig 29.

india as Bangladesh enemy had supported Myanmar, supported in maritime claim, supplied arms to Myanmar and will do the same in times of war.

That being said, indian and Myanmar shield (of ruling awami league regime) is being called out and now indians are fear mongering to protect Myanmar behind. If war breaks out it will not be about "textile mills" as puppu indians are mongering about. Most part of Myanmar western coast will be under Bangladesh control. In such situation indian stooge awami regime will not be able to hold onto power. Bangladesh will not be alone on that fight, that much is guaranteed.

3 BD navy ships have proper SAM systems rather than the man-portable Igla SAMs our neighbours have fitted.


PS - 2 more Type-56 corvettes will join the BD fleet next year.

Well no deal has been signed but an official BAF tender went out in March this year. Google it if you like.

Only SU-30SME/SU-35 meets the requirements of the tender but all odds are on SU-30SME. We can rule out Chinese J-11series as China has promised Russia that it will not export the aircraft
