BANGLADESH AND ASIA’S MARITIME BALANCE

They weren't your "just Jawans". They were meant to be a special unit tasked to enter Bangladesh and destroy BDR weapons storage and then send signals to India to make a move into Bangladesh. Villagers spotted them in a speeding boat and informed BDR. Then a small unit along with villagers armed with sticks surrounded them and then attacked them, thus killing them in the process.

Whatt d bull!!! They were no 'special unit', they were not even military, border guards don't invade countries, military does, and Bangladesh won't survive half a day if its big brother really decides to invade it, ever!

That BSF patrol party was caught by the villagers alone as they made the grave mistake of not shooting at the civilians when attacked, and got murdered in cold blood later by the Bangladeshi security forces in a disgraceful act. Bangladesh was spared because of our favourable relations and Sheikh Hasina.

16 BSF jawans crossed over to BD, they didn't fire at the villagers who caught them, and later they were murdered in cold blood when they were already unarmed, barely any heroic effort. Rather shameful for Bangladesh.

so who authroized BSF to cross an international border?

Loving caring and forgiving Indians.

Nobody, it was probably by mistake, Indo-BD borders are unmarked in many places and run through villages and even homes, a planned invasion, as a Bangladeshi suggests, would have involved massive forces and reinforcements to back up. The point is, they shouldn't have been murdered after surrender.

Ex DG of BDR Fazlur Rahman isnt a mentally stable person. He mishandled things. For that BSF became more violent in border and started attacking more and more civilians, BDR/BGB members. I came to this conclusion after reading his fake story of BDR Nasaka border skirmish and his claim of 5000 Nasaka kia. Anyway he got this courage during BAL and BNP expelled him.

As far as i have read, many people from both sides have been killed trying to cross border. This is just one incident and the bengalis killed Indians, its interesting to know that indian helicopters landed inside pakistan on three separate occasions and all the three times, the pakistanis returned the personnel and helicopters safely back.

Smuggling of drugs and other contrabands, cattle and even people is a major issue in the porus border between India & Bangladesh, criminals also cross over to India, do crimes like dacoity and run away accross the border. And terrorists and fake currency consignments also use the porus border to cross over. Mostly the criminals and smugglers get killed in the hands of border guards, BSF and BGB don't fight any battle among themselves. In that particular incident those 16 BSF jawans didn't fire at the civilians of BD who chased them, and surrendered knowing that they will be sent back as per the norm, but they were murdered. It was the otherwise good relations that made India not to retaliate. About those helicopters that you have mentioned, they probably developed some snag, soldiers are not monsters who would kill each other on sight when not in war. Professionals forces aren't expected to behave like mad dogs.

Special force or not, you got your a$$ beat by people with sticks. And we wouldn't survive half a day against you! Let's see, which of our 2 countries were able to quell insurgency into their country, it is Bangladesh, not India. You can't even keep your Eastern front calm, and you have wet dreams invading Bangladesh! Pathetic.

why BSF didnt fire?

why were the villagers hostile to BSF?

why is there so much hatred towards India?

BGB might have stopped the civilians but couldnt fire on their own people to stop them. 1000 vs a platoon maybe.

The worst part for them, the BSF soldiers thought that the people over there would be pro-India as the Indians claimed the land to be part of their country. Unfortunately for them, the opposite happened.

Well, don't believe any story explained by idiots knowing jack. There is a village called Padua near the Bangladesh-India border. Till 1971, it was part of the East Pakistan territory but during the war, Indian Army established a post there and it has been under their occupation ever since as an adverse possession. In April 2001, BSF began to construct a road connecting their checkpost and that disputed village Padua. Bangladesh Rifles or BDR (now Border Guards of Bangladesh or BGB) protested and asked them to stop. When BSF refused, a few platoons of BDR went to Padua and asked for proper documents that could prove the village is within Indian territory. When BSF failed to provide them, the BDR jawans occupied the village and the BSF fled without any bloodshed. To avenge this incident, a brigade, consisting BSF jawans, IA soldiers and some members of their special force launched an invasion to occupy an enclave called Boroibari which was well within Bangladeshi territory, about 200km west of Padua. When some local farmers noticed the invading force they quickly informed the BDR. In a violent confrontation, about 400 Indian troops got killed while two BSF jawans were taken as POW and the rest fled away. However, they couldn't take the dead bodies of 16 Indian soldiers which got remained in Bangladesh. At the same time 3 BDR jawans also got martyred. After a political intervention from both countries, BDR withdrew from the disputed village Padua and also returned the 16 dead bodies and the two POWs.

If common sense was not so uncommon among Bangladeshis, then you would have understand that sticks & stones don't stand a chance against 16 assault rifles, they were caught by the villagers because those BSF jawans made a grave mistake of not shooting at the Bangladeshi civilians for their own safety, a mistake that they don't repeat anymore.

And no, we don't have any dreams of invading BD, the era of creating colonies by invading small defenceless countries is long gone.

They didn't fire because they didn't imagine that they would be murdered in cold blood, that was the first and only such type of incident among India and BD. After that incident BSF don't take such chances.

Villagers in border areas are hostile because BSF is a major hindrance to their smuggling business.

And no, they were just 16, and they were murdered by the BGB, not by the villagers, BGB took them away and killed them (BGB had a different name then).

If Indians didn't have terrorist mentality then they wouldn't be so much hated in Bangladesh. Your soldiers came inside Bangladesh, the grave mistake they made was entering Bangladesh.

It's mostly you can't rather than you don't want. You can't even keep your parts of India free from separatists and I am not even talking about Kashmir.

Don't cry foul when Bangladeshis get shot for crossing over to India illegally, that is the fallout of that incident.

And it's mostly 'don't want', not 'can't', it's a matter of an evening if we 'want'! :)

However, you didn't answer my question about BD's role in Asia's maritime balance! :P

If you guys could do anything, you would be able to quell all the insurgency in your country. Instead, it keeps on increasing and spreading throughout your country. You can't solve conflicts within your own country and have wet dreams of invading foreign nations. You people are truly delusional.

As for your question well, you never asked a question but rather had an intention to troll.

But I will give you the role Bangladesh can play:

1. Build a deep sea port.
2. After getting the training subs, order newer diesel subs from China. Probably the export version of either Song Class or Yuan class submarine. The Song Class itself has shown its stealth ability by popping up at a US aircraft training. And they couldn't even detect it but rather saw it after it surfaced. That will give India some headache, thinking of it every time they enter Bay of Bengal.
3. Invite more Chinese warships for joint training into both Bangladesh part of Bay of Bengal and the International waters part.
