F-7BGI is a state of the art 4.5th gen platform, better than F-16 Block 52+. It's a win-win situation for PAF.

As usual, you are trolling again. Who says BGI is a 4.5G plane? It is a 3.5G plane, no doubt about it. We needed these planes and we will go after other 4.5G planes in the near future once we get our YAK-132 training planes from Russia. BAF has to train its pilots before it buys. We are not dumb Arabs, who are so fond of putting cart in front of the horses. We know what aur needs are. So, stop bickering like a funny stupid in all the posts, will you?

Why would Pakistan sell a plane for a F-7 that it itself made to replace the F-7s?

F-7BGI is BVR capable and precision guided munitions to attack ground target. With an AESA radar upgrade, it can take on any aircraft in the world.

F-7BGI is in a league of it's own. PAF requested for F-7BGI to China, which was turned down by the Chinese as it'd give a chance to Amreekans to take a peek at the technology.

So they produced a watered down version of F-7BGI, which was later renamed as JF-17.

That's because, PAF cannot replace all its old fighters with JF-17 alone since it will take many years. The rate of production will not match the rate of decommissioning(because of cost of a single user based production line) and there will be gaps in the fighter fleet force. So PAF will go for stop gap aircraft. If BAF agrees to sell the F-7BGI, BAF can rectify the mistake it made, and PAF can get a stop gap in a single deal! Plus a second JF-17 line can be opened in China as well and even PAF can get benefit out of that. JF-17 will get a solid order which will spurn even further orders. For the BAF, the cost of the F-7BGI can be subtracted from the JF-17 procurement cost.

It looks like a win win deal for both our brotherly countries.

Cool story bro, now pass on that cool stuff you smoke.

Difficulty in understanding Hindi??!!

If/when PAF decides to go in for a suicide and replaces JF17 with F7; then only a few MKIs will be enuf for x number of F7s...!!!

You must be joking.

Even the F-7P is BVR.

Is this thread something to be serious about? Chill man!

"Locked on" means that the PAF AWACS had caught the MKI in Pakistani airspace and the F-7s were required to kill it.

AWACS sey yaad aya......Is there any plans of BAF buying Israeli Phalcon AWACS???
