wait, you're saying the parade is pathetic in bd? then why are foreign military officials praising em?I think we should retain Chinese or North Korean marching band leaders to instill some discipline, presentation and quality into our military marching bands. Low, low, low quality chaprashi type uneducated people retained for our marching bands and the lack of training & discipline is pathetic.
What place does Bengali civilian feminine dance drama and songs have in our military world? This Anirban stuff is pointless which some have already pointed out. Instead of pride, we have a pathetic tradition.
If we participated in military drumming or marching band contests internationally, I am sure our marching bands would have dead last position. This needs urgent remedy and attention. The army has so much money but they don't spend any on this area, which is important for the morale of the troops.
Compared to this look at a simple University band in the US, not even the USMC. Look at the discipline, the training, the instruments and the quality of presentation! These are twenty something university students, not even soldiers.
Shaking.....My.....Head....
Here is the Black Watch BagPipe band in Australia,
look at North Korea's band,

you do know NK one is very dramatic right? (thanks to the nazis for instilling an image of greatness in parades)
but yes, what's with singing and dancing like dickheads... it's embarrassing.
the thing is bengali tunes were never meant to be played on those instruments... most like canada or russia use special written military songs for the paradesI don't mean that parade is pathetic - just that the quality and training of the marching bands has been neglected.
We have our bagpipers, compare them to the Canadian ones,
And no one holds a candle to the Russians when they put on a show - this is what we should aim for. A bridge too far maybe, but with guts and determination, well within reach.
I have now see it all....Anirban natok
