"Azerbaijan officially announced that the flights to Khankendi will be prevented and all measures, even the physical destruction can be applied to the planes carrying out flights to Armenia without Azerbaijan’s permission."

These are civilian planes, by the way.

In state of war, states have the right to close their airspace or opposing country's airspace so nothing illegal here.

Azerbaijan should avoid targeting civilian aircraft and other civilian targets, it is counter-productive to peace in the region. I can't think of any other country that considers doing this, may be North Korea.

Completely agreed. Azerbaijan can close whatever it wants. But shooting down civilian planes is unacceptable and will result in serious Armenian reprisals. And probably Russian to.

Shooting down a civilian plane will provide legitimacy to Armenian and Russian retaliation. Which I must say will be a lot to handle for Azerbaijan.

Welcome to Azerbaijan:D

Its unfortunate . I hope they do not walk the talk for their own sake.

BTW both the countries in your profile are very beautiful. Would certainly like to visit Armenia sometimes. :)

closing airspace means civilian planes too... So no, Azerbaijan a country that is in state of war with Armenia has the right to close airspace for even civilian planes and has the right to shot it down if plane won't follow the orders of Azerbaijan Air Force.

Thanks for the input, bin Laden. Now please escort yourself out of this thread.

In that case Syria a country embroiled in a 1 yr 4 month long civil war has the right to close airspace and has the right to shoot down planes that won't follow the orders of the Syrian Air Force. This is the logic of your argument.

By the way, AFAIK neither Armenia nor Azerbaijan is officially in a state of war there is a cessation of hostilities.

Bin Laden? Tch tch tch... I guess you are not very knowledgable on international laws aren't you? Even without state of war countries have the right to show down any plane civilian or not if they don't follow orders and you are questining their actions in state of war?

There has to be order to show down a plane for refusing to follow orders so your argument is invalid.

They are in ceasefire for now but recent border clashes heated up the stuation so Azerbaijan is just being carefull.

Lets pretend for a second that you are right and Azerbaijan shoots down a civilian plane. Do you honestly believe that Armenia (and Russia) will not completely destroy Azerbaijan in the following days? Turkey will do nothing because they will not want to sponsor terrorist actions.

stop talking without knowing anything , it never said it will shoot civilian planes , do you know the genocide to azeris? the hocali genocide?

Where did I support them?

“The illicit access to the country’s air space recognized by the international community is considered as an intrusion and existing actions will be taken on it”

What does Azerbaijan mean by this?
