which AESA from Italy

Most likely Vixen 1000E

That deal will be death of JFT sale rumours

Nope, Azerbaijan will be investing heavily into the Air Force for many years, Azerbaijan is even working towards local production of M-346 trainer jets, which means a massive increase in numbers for the Air Force.

Just can not believe it))
By the way, they said that before the end of 2019 there will be the first delivery of jf-17 fighters

I believe the delivery has been pushed towards 2020, and Air Force expects to order additional aircraft in Block 3 configuration in 2020.

Like I said to another user, Azerbaijan is pushing towards a much more capable Air Force, we already have 24 JF-17 Block 2+ on order and already negotiating for additional Block 3 versions, by the end we will have 48 to 72 JF-17 Block 2+ and Block 3. Additional aircraft such as Su-57, Su-35 and Su-34 with further upgrade of existing fleet of MiG-29s and Su-25s with new avionics, targeting pods and AESA radars, will push Air Force numbers to nearly 200 capable combat aircraft.

There is no chance the Vixen 1000E would be intergrated on a Russian aircraft. Its kind of hysterical actually. Why would countries who operate the Gripen and have sour ties with Russia allow for their tech to be pretty much given to Russia?
