Had the attack been successful and would have killed Indians instead of Afghans, the Pakistani members here would have been falling over themselves trying to imply how ISI gave a tight one to India. Now they are just trying to ensure that the blame stays with Taliban

Police fired on the militants as they approached a checkpoint near the consulate in Jalalabad, prompting one of them to set off their explosives-laden car, said Masum Khan Hashimi, the deputy police chief of Nangarhar province. The blast killed nine bystanders, and wounded another 24 people including a policeman.

All three attackers also died, although it was not clear how many were killed by police fire and how many by the explosion.

It is actually the afghan police that prevented the attackers from entering consulate-sacrificing one of their own.

Probably the Taliban wants to give a message to Indians to leave like NATO.

Friend if Taliban wants to give massage, they would have declared it openly. They are afghans + Pastoons from across the border(also other nationalities) They don't fear anyone that's the truth. Afghans will fight till the last breath weather Taliban or Civilians. But ultimately it's the civilians who suffer the most. Everyone knows that who opposes the India in Afghan territory.

Well in past cases it has been established on the ground that taliban have infiltrated the ranks of ANA &Police, so it could be an inside job?.
As i said above, there was an intel about possible attack by AQ on US consulate, since their consulates are closed, they decided to go with yours.

Are you stating a fact or just bouncing the blame?? How did you know it was AQ ???
