ISLAMABAD: Blast has been reported near Jinnah Super Market in Islamabad on Saturday, Geo News reported.

According to sources, gunshots are also being heard in the area, setting off panic among residents.

Explosion rocks Islamabad; 1 killed, 15 injured

Islamabad: An explosion rocked the heart of the Pakistani capital on Sunday and was followed by an exchange of fire between security forces and suspected militants near a crowded market place.

The blast occurred near the Jinnah supermarket in the centre of Islamabad, which was packed with shoppers.

Reports said the blast had occurred near a security check post. Several ambulances were seen taking injured persons away from the area.

The explosion was followed by an exchange of fire that was continuing.

Panicked shoppers rushed out of the supermarket causing traffic snarls on nearby roads. Police and security personnel cordoned off the area.

According to the initial reports the blast left one person killed and 15 others injured.

This was an area where two platoons were present. Also sophisticated bombs and large amounts of gun ammo were found. This has the hallmarks of outside interference. 100% Indian sponsored terror!
