The Bethel Memorial Methodist Church located on Quetta's Zarghoon Road was targeted in a terrorist attack on Sunday afternoon, Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti confirmed to DawnNews. Initial reports suggested an explosion took place, which was followed by sustained gunshots.

The area is in the city's high-security zone.

Four suicide attackers struck while church service was ongoing, Bugti told DawnNews.

One of the attackers detonated a suicide vest inside the church's premises. Another was shot dead near the church's entrance by security forces, Bugti said. Two of the attackers fled when they saw security forces approach the area.
