Just as planned by the U.S. hegemon.
They always pick and support troublemaker in a region, play regional powers against each other. and hype up conflicts where non where or had already been solved.
Or they steamroll your nation and claim but not even pretend to be friends and allies while abusing and exploiting you with no respect until their tactical goals have been accomplished and the neighboring emerging indipendent powers havse been succumbed before they had a chance to grow up.
Bull.
SouthEast Asia doesn't need the US to play regional powers against each other, you guys are doing just fine by yourselves.
As a person with a Chinese flag you have very little wiggle room to talk about supporting troublemakers and abusing and exploiting with no respect until your tactical goals have been met.
Do you seriously believe China is looking for an equal relationship with its neighboring powers by claiming all of the south China sea, up to the shores of some countries? That one Chinese diplomat best paraphrased China's views by essentially saying they are a big country and the rest are small countries and they must make way/pay tribute for the big country. This had been the core of Chinese geopolitical thought (in a more hubristic form) during the dynasties of yesteryear, and it is still present today.
China is trying to make the South East Asian countries subordinate to it, especially when it comes to who gets a share of the resource pie.
