Army Chief Inaugurates Sui Military College

SUI: Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani has inaugurated Military College Sui in Dera Bugti on Monday.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Pevez Kayani said ten thousand Baloch youth will be recruited in Pakistan army by 2012 out of which three thousand are already serving in army.

The Army Chief said after Military College Jehlum and Muree, third of its kind Military College has now been established at Sui in Balochistan.

General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani said that the decision to transform Sui Cantonment into an educational city is aimed at dispelling negativity surrounding cantonments.

The General announced the beginning of first academic year at Military College Sui in April this year.

General Kayani reiterated army's commitment towards addressing genuine grievances of the Baloch people. He said Pakistan's progress was conditional with educated and prosperous Balochistan.

General Kayani said Balochistan was rich in resources but proper utilization was impossible without education and technical know-how.

He said that around twenty three thousand Baloch students were enrolled in forty seven schools run by Pakistan Army and the Frontier Corp in Balochistan.

General Kayani said Army was aware that people of Balochistan want to play their due role in defending Pakistan.

He also announced a training program for Baloch youth educated up to intermediate level in Quetta to get commission in army.

Very Very good move !

and I hope this continues forward,

I also hope that the standards are kept high, or higher than MCJ or Hassan Abdal for that matter.

Kudos Gen Kiyani

More Baluch youth into army means more employment + more patriotism + less collaboration with insurgency and anti state elements = big trouble for rebels..we need to recruit many from the loyal factions of rebel tribes like Mengal, Marri and Bugti who can then break this insurgency from inside.
The problem with Baluch as people is that they easily fall prey to rumors created by media, nefarious politicians (nawaz, altaf, Bugti, etc) and their own co-tribes men!

Another commendable effort by Gen sahab. While the politicians are busy in their petty fights and conflicts it is good to see army still committed to the defence of Pakistan's geographical and ideological borders on every front.

Great work. :pakistan:

Excellent news, but how many colleges and schools did Akbar Bugti setup with the billions in royalties he obtained from the State?

I know he had plenty of residences, a fleet of cars and a militia of fighters, so obviously money was not an issue ...

And even more importantly, how many colleges and schools has the Baluchistan government set up?

assalam alaikum

I m sure balochies will benefit from this college and in return it will be a benefit for our country , masha Allah gr8 job

No wonder Bugti is still a martyr to a few of us.

Great news. Surely this college will serve it purpose for generations. Earlier General has established a similar institution in Chamalong as well.
