Armoured Defender Jeep By HIT

great ride.....they just dont build them like they used to

i remember I was in Sinai region of Egypt camping/off-roading with friends. I saw an almost brand new Liberty start developing shakes, rattles, and what not. Next thing i knew, this guy is leaking oil everywhere from his rear differential.

the Cherokees of the mid 1980s/1990s were true off-roader cars in my very humble opinion. I've driven many, but never owned one before but I still feel it's a hell of a tough car --especially for hill climbing. With steady momentum and a reasonably familiar understanding of the car and the conditions, it can go almost anywhere.

i'm also a fan of those old Wagoneers with the wooden panels....but i've never seen one in Pakistan as of yet. I just know about them :) There are some examples existing in the country, in fact they were being manufactured here in 80s by now defunct "Naya Daur Motors" --but ive never been able to come across even one

Mine was in it's original state what they called a "Compact Wagoneer" complete with the woody. When I restored it I could not find the woody to replace it, so I just painted over with the original VIN Navy Blue.

We joke about the Liberty as the "Minnie mouse" Jeep!

Nothing beats the 4.0L for torque. They actually had to de-tune the rear axle when they first came out, as it would tear up your ring gears on the axle all the time. This is my 2nd Jeep Cherokee now.

"only in a Jeep" as they say. Even pulled a Chevy Taco...er, Tahoe out of mud once!!:D

Tahoe is a grocery store car, not a true off-roader. Kind of like the Suburban GMC.

The torque from the 4.0L "high output" motors on the late 1990s Cherokees is just phenomenal. I like that it is part time 4WD. Floor it in 1st gear, the wheels will spin off the line and you get plastered to the seat.

fantastic vehicle

Great, Love it.
I have this. :smitten:
This is my second one.

I think the best car after Humvee would be Nissan Patrol to be armored for millitary purposes. It has an exceptional off-road performance with a 4.8L V8 developing 280hp, lightweight & strong body along with a rigid chassis and good ground clearance . Not much of luxury built for performance.

i also like suburban my sister also buyed today brand new suburban in abudhabi soon i willll post the photos of car if i got a time to take pics

i think the Arabs like American cars like Caprice and GMC-Suburban more than Americans do.

lol

The Arlington GM plant (1/2 mile from where I live) builds the surburbans, Tahoes, Escalades, and other trucks. It is now the only US plant that does. From what my neigbour says ( he is a GM plant employee) well over half of the big SUVs are for shipment overseas to the mid-East! It appears the arabs are definitly into the "bigger is better" concept, wheras here we call them gas hogs!!:D
