ARJ-21-700-104, China's 78·-105 seater regional commercial aircraft took off on Mar 15, 2014 from 阎良Yanliang Airport, Xian. During its first leg flight, ARJ-21 has travelled through China, Russia, Alaska and landed in Windsor Airport, Canada (See route map @2: 42 of the above vid)

On its return flight it has travelled through Canada, iceland, Denmark, Austria, Turkey, Kazakhstan before touching down on China. (See route map @3:00)

ARJ-21 has completed a 30,000 km (approx) flight journey during which it has encountered the severest climate , windshears, blizzards and icing tests.

It is a good strong prelude news for C919, then the march towards C929 and C939 will not be a dream in the near future.

typically what is the international standard flight miles for testing before putting it to production?
 
Good luck ... Hope the domestic aircrafts of China have good quality and come into service soon, to save the USD/EUR ... for 1.4 bil. Chinese people ...

Great job! Too bad this plane is limited to commercial use with all it's foreign parts, otherwise we can utilise it for mini-AWACs or ElINT role.

Its too small for that purpose. Again too small for the cashcow for commercial purpose.

one of the aim to test the plance abroad is to get the airworthiness certificate from the west countires in order to export the plane in the future, in fact china has all the weather conditions for testing plane , not necessary to fly round the earth.
with the same reason we use the west components which we can produce domestically if necessary.

by the way , we have many types of AWAC and ELINT now, ARJ maybe transform, who knows.

I have no idea
But as far as I know they need to pass many other very stringent tests like the landing and braking systems on drenched or icy runways, communication systems, defrosting systems, life-supporting systems ...etc which are not manifested in the flight distance paramenters
According to the above related report, the global flight and icing tests are the last of "the major hurdle" for getting a certification by the end of 2014 from China Aviation Authority whose standards are said to be harsher than USFAA from where we are trying to get a "Type Certification"
The test prototype above is the 4th (104). We are now making 106

If everything goes fine, we are targeting full swing production in 2015!

Are those test pilot from military?

I believe they are.

ARJ-21 is for domestic flights It provides a good platform for building larger planes - like some wide body ones in the future
C919 series are the major players!
