actually ,the British Empire has had more impact in terms of Modern India. A large section of the Middle class aspires and speaks English. Indian education system, civil service are British left overs that has been adapted by Indians.

In fact, the British Empire has the dubious honor of setting in course many current events today. They carved out the Indian subcontinent. They carved up Middle Eastern nations Israel-Palestine. British colonists created the United States.

I hope Indians actually don't take a cue from their ancients and the medieval Mughals either.

The splendour of the Mughals is frankly overhyped to a certain extent. They were a bunch of medievalist thugs in the vein of Hindu kings before them.

IMO, Indians would do well to emulate the Industry, Enterprise and investment on education and science the Europeans, the Chinese and the various East Asian countries which can lift them to more prosperity and do well to not emulate the Islamic civilization which has spectacularly failed from 17th century onwards, where they along with the rest of the world were vassals to the European powers.

Yes, there is a clear genetic continuity between modern day Egyptians and the Ancient Egyptians who built the pyramids.

It's good to be proud of both your Egyptian roots as well as your Arab tongue. There is no need for either/or, for example my ancestors are Hakka but I am a Cantonese (and Mandarin) speaker, I am proud of both.

If one takes a deep look at the countries being in trouble in the Arab world, he can easily see that their governance systems were/are remnants of the socialist era of the USSR, and were its allies, both Baath parties in Iraq and Syria, and also Libya Too of them are very rich in OIL and the third, Syria has Oil too and a very big natural Gas reserves, and that is one of the commonalities, the others is that they happen to be Arabs and Muslims but Communists in mentality, that is alone is a very big contradiction, since the latter ideology calls for atheism which does not fit within Islam, Christianity or Judaism, all of which are present in the middle east -This religious part can be skipped - but still...).
Apart from these three there are no troubles in the Arab world.
What the Arabs, the US the EU and others want in reality is some equilibrium in these three countries foreign policies, to assure the western countries of a fair share of their Oil and Gas supplies and to contain Russia's strongholds in the Arab world, if not to eliminate them. That is why the US and the EU are arming the GCC to the teeth, and Iran is arming itself the same way. The end result and the objective I might say is the withdrawal of all foreign forces (or keeping it to a minimum) from the Persian Gulf in the future, and the handling of its security by regional countries who are obviously readying themselves for that role and responsibility. I do not know the time frame for that to happen, but it will ultimately happen.
The US, the EU and other major powers will be more than happy for it to happen as soon as possible , since it insures their needed supplies of Oil and Gas (and other resources like the huge reserves of Afghan rare earth elements), and will save them money and resources to put in their own ailing economies.
