Pakistani diplomats are smart and intelligent. They speak good English and communicate well with world powers. KSA knows that skill of ours and wants our diplomats to remain active in world bodies. In return our diplomats support Saudi view point and protect their interests.

Not every time it is about money or defence equipment. There is a lot which goes on and we have much to support to give in return, other than soldiers.

Sartaj aziz said 120 countries had promised Pak their support, but 105 voted... So maybe some GCC countries, might not have voted for Pakistan in UN, due to their displeasure over yemen stance.. So maybe this could also be one of the reasons, tht Gen Raheel went to KSA ...... Pak realised how imp. Is GCC support for Pak at international forums, hence an effort from Pak to mend ties as soon as possible...

True. Last election that we lost was due to entire GCC block not voting for us. GCC countries and its influence can win you over 30 votes in UN. It was a setback however such things happen. Remember the African summit in India? In addition to economic agenda it was also aimed at diplomatic support from Africa. People often dismiss small countries as insignificant. Not true. A vote is a vote. Each country is one vote and every vote counts. African countries account for over 50 votes at UN. We need to make inroads there. China already has good influence. That can help us. If we can get some African countries with us, it will help us offset regional complications. That means we can pursue more assertive and independent foreign policy.
