This question has long bothered me. Whenever I Google for "Pakistan News", these are the results I get. 99% Bharti propaganda. No matter which day, time, week of the year.

Have a look at the pictures too, they make sure they have the worst picture available most of the time along with the title of article.

Is it due to Google ceo being a Bharti pushing for a bad image of Pakistan along with its Kumar, kutty, patel, etc experts?

Is there a solution to this?

I hardly ever click to read Bharti articles, so why is it showing, whether it's my personal cell phone, tablet, laptop or my office laptop or desktop.

Why Pakistani papers don't have that level of presence on Pakistan issues. How will pakistan counter info war which is a larger part of 5th gen warfare when its sites can't even present its image or write on its issues, creating propaganda on Bharti issues seem distant dream for now.

I intentionally posted this thread in "strategic affairs" section because to me Bharti destruction of Pakistan's image by using doctored propaganda is against Pakistan's interests.

Pakistani papers are only good for local theories.

This is simply because Indian websites get more traffic (1.4 billion comes in handy) and because they have better SEO.

This seems to be only happen for Pakistan, doesn't happen when you google "Bangladesh news", perhaps a concerted effort by the Indian government?

The only thing that makes sense. Google runs on algorithms. Better your SEO, and greater your internet traffic, the more likely your result to be on the top.

Google and other search engine results are based on a number or factors. One important one is volume of clicks. India has a large number of internet users and therefore indian news sites have many visitors. Google understands the high traffic and large number of clicks on their articles as evidence of the sites being trustworthy and reliable. So if website A is Indian and has 100,000 visitors on its article about Pakistani news and website B is Pakistani and has 20,000 visitors on its article on the same news then Google will more often than not choose website A before website B as the most reliable source.

Of course there are other factors as well but the sheer volume of Indian news outlets in the English language means that they have a much stronger starting position. Pakistan can counter this by increasing the number of its English language news outlets, encouraging more to read news online rather then watching the news on TV and increasing the quality of their content.

i think that was the whole idea behind google.pk (country specific portals) where the emphasis would be on pakistani user preferences

Unfortunately you ppl doesn't want to understand SEO or how Google works... Wien you type Pakistani new, Google will search "Pakistan", "News", individual keys and combined keys. In the results, it shows the web pages which are visited most. Obviously pages visited by Indians would be in front page on account large Indian population. It's nothing to do Indians in Google, it due to Indians across web. Try Bing and see results, it would be similar. One thing I observed, Pakistanis take India name more than Indians may be in -ve way but still you are remembering India much more than Pakistan or Allah. We call this as Mama Jaapam and it has its own Impact.

even in this post you typed Pakistan more than you typed India.

We have produced nukes, but we cant have some good english newspapers or magazines. Why?

Tribune, dawn and dailytimes are just garbage.

The problem is Pakistanis and its establishment just doesnt care. How hard is to come up with a good online newspaper or a couple of english news channels. We have indus news but its a private enterprise. Look at Press Tv platform.

I strongly recommend, PDF starts an online newspaper which shares articles and editorial space with other pro pakistan newspapers and magazines. All Pakistani members can financially contribute to it. We must seriously think about it. We owe at least this much to the country.

Our own media houses are not ready to work on painting the soft image of Pakistan. So, let’s not even talk about info war or who is trying to defame Pakistan. Hardly, they know about the information war.

They can be compelled to project organic Pak-centric thru policy guidelines and legislation. Sadly neither Pakmil nor any political party is up to the mark to even begin playing the game.

This is a known problem. Many pakistaniz are thinking about it. Even my chinese cnd german friends asked me about it.
