Any replacement for Bangladesh A-5 jets?

. .
I dnt think without upgradation (block2) any one select JF17 in their air force

SU-30 or SU-34 would be very nice.

SU-30:

The Sukhoi Su-30 (NATO reporting name Flanker-C) is a twin-engine, two-seat military aircraft developed by Russia's Sukhoi Aviation Corporation. It is a multirole fighter for all-weather, air-to-air and air-to-surface deep interdiction missions.

SU-34:

The Sukhoi Su-34 (export designation: Su-32, NATO reporting name: Fullback) is an advanced Russian 2-seat fighter-bomber. It is intended to eventually replace the Sukhoi Su-24 and the Tupolev Tu-22M.

If we have money, we might buy some European or American aircraft.

One thing we need to be careful about is how the Bangladesh government handles such expensive procurements. The MIG-29 deal some time back was a very controversial one. The tax-payer winded up paying more than the actual price of the aircraft.

Su-34?!! That's a long range bomber ! What's the use?

Best would be Gripens ! Especially with their ability to take off and land on roads (Sweden's strategy against future soviet aggression)

Perfect to deter future Indian/Bharti invasions ;)

But SU-34 looks soo sexy :yahoo:

Gripen sounds good too, but it is expensive like any great European aircraft. Bangladesh is a relatively poor country. Air force and navy are expensive matters to begin with.

the correct choice for Bangladeshi AF would be j 10.

Conqueror...BD won't be sold the same stuff which PAF or PLAF uses but still there would be risk of India "getting close and personal" to those. So even though there are less chances of it.. it is still a risk.

Highly unlikely for iaf to get a close look at those JFTs if ever procured in the future by BAF. By your logic such products won't even leave manufacturing plants if there are any fears.

We have discussed it to death J-10 is out of question for BAF for the next 5 years atleast. Yes BAF can get a better product because they would be the one to procure they have every right to demand according to their requirements if PAF/China is unable to provide them, then they can ditch and pick something else from someone else.

Why won't posters understand that JFT full fills every role BAF is looking for except for a long range. There is a remedy for it as well air refuellers or customized CFTs, BAF could opt for the BLK II.

.
As the premier PLAAF asset, they are not ready to sell this fighter to anyone other than Pakistan at the moment.

their premium fighters are j 11 b, j 20 not j 10.

In the 21st century our air force look like a big joke in front of in indian air force . we need to replace current junk by jf-17 as like paf and as for front line j-10b for our air force .

Instead of inferior Aircraft like J-10,JF-17 you should buy F-16 block 60,Gripen Rafale,Su-35etc.
