Who assimilated into Indian mainstream? Brahmins? Thats why they are genetically different then local population even now after thousands of years Also being South Indian you dont have much knowledge about our history. Peshawar was importan city in Vedic & Gandhara Civilzation, we are not like pseudo Indian historians who says anything east of Indus is India.
