The OP is more or less correct, there is more inequality and poverty in India. However, the minimum wage values are not from a reliable source. if you search 10 different websites, you will find 10 different values for minimum wage in India, you simply took the one that suits your narrative. In banana republics like India and Pakistan, there is no way to enforce mininum wage, so even if a website is saying it is 111 in Pakistan and 95 in India, it means **** all, are you actually naive enough to believe that anyone is enforcing minimum wage . People get away easily with murder and rape and stealing billions of dollars here, there are millions of pending court cases, haven't heard a single case of a court convicting anyone for not paying their workers minimum wage. Hell, even in Canada companies like uber or doordash don't have to pay the stipulated minimum wage, by structuring your "employment' in a way that you are an independent contract workers who only get commission.

While economically speaking India is ahead of us now one thing I have noticed is for the most part our street layout , cleaniliness , road network , sanitation looks better when you go through these YT videos.

Ofcourse there will be rich places in India that PK might not have but overall it seems your average small town or city is a tad better in PK. The difference is neglible though it looks 99% similar with the only difference is the sign boards are in hindi.

Here is a rule of thumb - to get a more realistic picture.. All the positive BS you hear about India and negative about Pak... Just divide by 99 and you will get the real picture. Any negative you hear about India and positive about Pak multiply by 99.

Second hand swift cost less than 80k which is similar to most scooters like Activa. Maid gets ~35k per month from the houses she goes to. She also has a working son but husband has passed away. So it's not a big thing. Perhaps they preferred to have a car during the covid situation instead of a scooter, we cannot judge their decision.

It's true, among the upper crusty rich lot. These folks will often take their maids on vacations, foreign vacations even..spl if they're nannies to small kids, they'll often take their pets along with them too if its a road trip. Well here's 1 funny thing i renege 10yrs old i think.

My mother is health supervisor, she has to count beggar children's and check thier health for TB etc and send yearly report.

So, when she went to thier homes, there were no children, she asked about and was told that in summer they go to hills for begging lol.

My mother came home and kept talking about it for many days, she couldn't come to term that beggars were going to hill station while she was literally walking house to house in such heat making reposts. haha
