That's really sad to hear. The situation of stray dogs in India is not very good as well. I used to feed a stray dog then, for a couple of days I wasn't able to find him so I asked one local shop owner and he told me that municipality guys took him.
A few days later he was there and I was very happy to see him again. I guess they sterilized him in order to control population. But shooting stray dogs is not a common thing in India(as per my knowledge).

i never bothered with questioning whether there is god or not and islam is the first movement to say "okay, there is a single and formless god, now don't get obsessed with worshiping god but instead get on with creating a justice and freedom based society in your material world".

what i meant was if we claim to be a muslim our claim must not be because of we praying five times a day on hard floor and getting a mark on the forehead... our claim must be because we understand the reasoning behind the revolution brought by the last prophet and also why he adored cats.

the difference of liking cats or liking dogs is not personal but something that affects society... i being in india know this more than most others.

look at iraq... the chaos after the 2003 invasion by western forces and the consequent regime-change also increased the population of dogs... the baghdad police shot thousands of the increased dogs because they were attacking people... so we can take this to mean that the increase in dog population is because there was something wrong in society and presence of dogs must be taken as a indicator of this.

a truly harmonious city would be a compromise between humans and cats, and no dogs.

dog are bigger than cats so its obvious who's the predator and who's the prey. hence the low numbers of stray cats in india over here stray dogs are rare but stray cats? you do see ferrel cats, now if they dont bother us we dont care. and now we like them as they are doing sewer repairs nearby and we have rats so the cats do keep them in check.

I don't have time at my hand these days, reason I have not been active on the forum for a long time, otherwise, there's a lot of counterargument here. If killing dogs was a solution, it would have given the results a long time ago.

My purpose to post is here was to spread the message of my friend about what level of cruelty is being practiced in our society. Those who are for the animal rights, please share the word, and those who are against it, can propagate some other time.

A society's mentality can be very well be judged by how it treats the voiceless animals. I'm out!

i am beginning to participate in indian politics in the left side of things and me being a socialist cannot of course ever dismiss away the war by saying "it's unfortunate".

if you don't care about the 2003 iraq invasion you also really don't care about the 2011 invasions of libya and syria.
