GOP Rep. Mike Rogers: An Israeli Attack On Iran Would ‘Light The Middle East On Fire’ | ThinkProgress | TURKISH NEWS WIRES STRATEGY ANALYSIS MIDDLEEAST

The past week brought heightened discussion of a potential Israeli unilateral attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. But House Intelligence Chairman Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI), appearing on CNN’s State of the Union with Candy Crowley this morning, agreed that an Israeli attack would “light the Middle East on Fire” and could be “a real problem for the national security interests of the United States.”
Rogers, commenting on Washington Post columnistDavid Ignatius’ report that Defense Secretary Leon Panetta believes “there is a strong likelihood that Israel will strike Iran in April, May or June,” told Crowley:
MIKE ROGERS: [...] My argument is this is too important for us not to get this right. If Israel does a unilateral strike this could be a real problem for the national security interests of the United States.
CANDY CROWLEY: Well it lights the Middle East on fire basically.
ROGERS: Absolutely.
Rogers defended diplomatic and economic efforts to persuade Iran to cooperate fully with U.N. nuclear inspectors:
ROGERS: [The sanctions] seem to be working. The financial pressure right now on Iran is devastating. [...] It’s effecting every sector of their economy. [...] Our argument is can we work with the Israelis on this and other programs to try to delay or stop this program by bringing Iran to the table. That to me is a better outcome than inflaming the Middle East.

'Israeli attack will prompt Pakistani response' - Israel News, Ynetnews

Is the world counting down to "D-Day"? After US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta estimated that Israel would attack Iran by June, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned government officials against "Iran chatter," A European diplomat based in Pakistan said that if Israel attacks, Islamabad will have no choice but to support any Iranian retaliation.

The diplomat's statement raised the specter of putting a nuclear-armed Pakistan at odds with Israel, which is widely believed to have its own significant nuclear arsenal.

Could be propaganda by Israel, since, while getting a chance to go to war with Iran, they'll be able to create a world war scenario.

The more I look into these kinda of reports, the more I start to think that the Israeli-controlled American/Western media always claims that Pakistan's nukes may get taken over by Al Qeda, Taliban, and how poorly protected our nukes is, what can Israel possibly be aiming for?

One of the comments below posted by an Israeli is "Too bad for Pakistan that Israel has nukes in their major cities that can be detonated by a cellphone call. "

.
I am not a fan of Iran's current regime but Israel attack on Iran is kind of a crazy talk... ''Iran's missiles will blot out the sun over Israel''
