It seems like a ground power unit cable to provide power. I work with airplanes and they have the same cable to provide power when a plane is docked. It looks the same as a 28V DC 3 pin cable.

Probably to charge the battery and provide power when the auxiliary power unit or engine isn't running.

Electrical power is generated from the engines. Otherwise they would have to carry a huge battery.
