Nah! it has to be Putin. Since I know that Sonia Italia won't even bother giving you a kick on your @ss forget about briefing.
Vik is still 3 years away for getting operational. It s meaningless to compare her with the PLAN AC which has been operational some months.
@shuttler , are all those water spraying system inbuilt within the carrier deck? If so won't it cause problems for Aircraft mobility?
Then what have they been flying. If you don't read news papers why don't you Google?
You can shove that comment up yours.
@Dillinger is talking about INS Vikrant II that is being built in CSL , kochi while this thread is about INS Vikramadithya which is being refurbished in Russia.Hull fabrication is complete, since modular construction was followed- the island and superstructure components have also been fabricated before hand. At the current moment its in the dry dock getting ready for fitment. 3 years away from completion. You wanted to ask anything in particular?
Gadhe, take some lessons from Dillinger, then eat some grass with sea water, and then come to discuss.

couldn't go through it all cause you know.... But here are a few things
First. India is not the best Asian Carrier country, that still belongs to Japan. The Japanese Carriers went toe to toe with US and lost, but still went Toe to Toe, and if a few things gone the other way maybe not.
Second, Tractors on a carrier is fine as lone as it works, besides how old is that picture. Tractors don't decide the effectiveness of an carrier, unless tractors are launched to fight.
Third Liaoning is a training carrier for China, yes it will stay in service, and does have combat strength, not now, but later. But just having the carrier is not the goal. A Carrier group needs to be formed, then we can judge.
50 years of experience? Sure, but let's not get carried away, India is not US, you operated a carrier not a full fledged carrier group like the US. Does driving 50 years means you got 50 years of experience as a race car driver?
Sure the experience helps, it's the same, but not quite, if India is looking at carrier groups too then India will be starting ahead, but not by much.
We need to see how good China and India's next batch of carriers are, before we make conclusions. You can judge two kids on training wheels and say which is better, but until they grow up and get real bikes, you would be too haste to make this call.

Went toe to toe in superior numbers and lostThe Japanese Carriers went toe to toe with US and lost, but still went Toe to Toe, and if a few things gone the other way maybe not.
U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers on December 07, 1941On 7 December 1941, the U.S. Navy had seven aircraft carriers (CVs) and one aircraft escort vessel (AVG) in commission. The CVs were considered warships and the AVG was considered an auxiliary vessel. In addition to these eight ships, the keels of five other CVs had been laid. The names, history, status and aviation units of each of these ships is described below.
Japanese Carriers of WW2Japanese Carriers of World War II: Ten Carriers at the time of Pearl Harbor
Japanese Forces in the Pearl Harbor AttackAll six of Japan's first-line aircraft carriers, Akagi, Kaga, Soryu, Hiryu, Shokaku and Zuikaku, were assigned to the mission. With over 420 embarked planes, these ships constituted by far the most powerful carrier task force ever assembled.
Carrioer Locations, 7 December 1941On 7 December 1941, the three Pacific Fleet aircraft carriers were USS Enterprise (CV-6), USS Lexington (CV-2), and USS Saratoga (CV-3).
Surely, India's carriers to date (note: plural) have not sailed around by themselves. Rather, they've worked as part of a group, with escorts.50 years of experience?
