AH-1 Cobras flying on Gwadar coast

The tail rotor may not be functioning but on purpose as this seems to be a training flight. Helis can be flown without their tail rotors on but it is very difficult to fly the heli straight without it. The fact that this pilot is doing this points to him possibly training without it in case of emergency such as a hit on the tail rotor. Usually you end up going in the direction where the main rotor's blades are turning without the tail rotor and it takes a lot of effort to keep the flight straight.

nice video but what is going on?? with all due respect  i mean the trani does not even know the basics? the camera man possibly a instructor is telling him to go faster with his nose down..

Yes Indeed!! this might be a training session.

Chopper gets into a spin if Tail rotor is malfucntioning or gets hit in battle, controlling the heli in such a scenario is a difficult task

should they use some good camera damn if they don't have i can give them my sony cyber shot 12.2 mpxl.

The tail rotor is moving. It's an optical illusion. Watch this video and you'll get the idea.

It is a camera effect. The Frame Rate of the video is same as that of the RPM of the Tail Rotor. I seen a Mi-35 being flown without the main rotor rotating and it was an illusion. It is Crazy to think that flying without tail rotor for long time is possible.

It is neither an optical illusion nor special effects...

In fact, if a helicopter were to be flying forward fast enough, a vertical tail like that used on an airplane would provide enough force to counteract the torque of the main rotor, without any tail rotor! In fact, this mode of flight is actually one of the emergency procedures recommended when a tail rotor malfunctions. Of course, one of the reasons helicopters were developed in the first place was the desire to hover over one spot with no forward velocity.

It has to do with the frequency of the camera combined with the rotating frequency of the rotors which obviously are both variabel.
